  1. I disagree with Davidi on Hutchison being the #5, I think you start him in the minors as the #1 depth option unless Happ can be traded or is on the DL. And even then, Rogers may do the job for a bit. Best thing to do would be to sign Santana and swallow your pride by dealing Happ for salary relief.
  2. Someone else thinks the Jays should trade for Rick Porcello: http://digitaljournal.com/sports/mlb-trade-rumors-rick-porcello-to-toronto-blue-jays/article/375078 Of course, it's just some guy speculating.
  3. Don't know much about him, but he led the Korean league in Ks last year.
  4. Jays signed a pitcher, there's a report out there.
  5. Stop holding your breath guys/girls, the value just isn't there.
  6. Apparently, his medicals are a big reason why he's still unsigned, but a 1-year deal mitigates the risk.
  7. Why give him the QO amount? I see no logic behind this. Maybe 9M for 1 year, remember, he costs a pick.
  8. And Stroman
  9. One would like to think they'll use the MI depth to get an arm...hopefully Happ+!
  10. I would think he got an offer or 2, but Boras may have included an opt-out clause in a counter offer.
  11. 3/30 is not that far off the 3/27 despair offer that was rumoured to have been made by AA. It was probably a false report, but we'll see what Santana ends up getting.
  12. Yeah, it's surprising some team hasn't jumped in and signed Drew like the Orioles did with Jimenez although I think there was a report saying the Orioles were led to think that the Jays and Red Sox had made offers. The problem with both Drew and Santana is that their prices reportedly haven't come down much. There was even that rumour claiming Boras wanted an opt-out clause for Drew...that might be a fireable offense.
  13. All it'll take is a couple of good innings in his next start and he'll be back to being "a big part of what they're trying to do here".
  14. Yeah no doubt. It's really unfortunate that the Jays couldn't stomach another year of suckitude in 2013, the franchise would have a decent long term outlook.
  15. I love Syndergaard and was stunned like many others that AA would agree to give up the package he gave up. However, I think D'Arnaud is being overlooked a bit here. He's gonna be a heck of a player and needless to say, that trade is gonna haunt the Blue Jays big time.
  16. Sergio Santos has been eaten by the stomach bug that was ailing him, link below:
  17. You, on the other hand, have something some of the boys here have never seen before.
  18. What a heartwrenching story.
  19. Probably Jays' scouts. Who knows, they may be pumping his tires to trade him for Shark or something.
  20. That was AA's ninja plan for 2B all along, now haterz can STFU.
  21. Lack of patience is at the centre of what motivated the Jays to make the moves in the 2012 off season. I don't think they gave up on the prospects they traded away, I think they didn't want to go into 2013 expected to lose 90-100 games. I really hope they send Hutchison and Stroman to AAA to start the season and let them get more seasoning although from what I saw yesterday, Hutchison is MLB ready and Stroman not far behind.
