  1. Yankees broadcasters were saying that Ellsbury was actually save on the play.
  2. Rogers relieved Dickey in the season opener and pitched on Thursday after Morrow went 5 innings. Redmond relieved Loup yesterday, but Gibby was trying to keep the team in the game so he brought in Cecil to finish off an inning. First time through the rotation: Dickey went 5; Hutchison went 5.1; Buehrle went 8.2; Morrow went 5; McGowan went 2.2. <---This has to improve or it'll be a continuation of last season.
  3. On a positive note, Davis, Nay, Jimenez, Sanchez, Tirado and others are off to strong starts....albeit for one game.
  4. We knew the Jays would have to pitch well to beat the Yanks since they have good pitching and McGowan just didn't deliver, even if he was hurt by some broken-bat bloops. McGowan just seemed off, fastball was running high and outside. It'll be interesting to see how his shoulder feels after being in high-stress situations in his 2.2 innings.
  5. There's nothing to cover, reputable sources had Santana signing with the Jays before Medlen got injured. It's really not a big deal. I wasn't big on signing him anyway, so just move on.
  6. On another note, that play Goins made was pretty great.
  7. All I can say is RIP.
  8. It's interesting that some posters would rather be fans of other teams, some keep whining that they should watch basketball instead and so forth. Just freaking do it guys, go root for your other team, go watch your basketball and spare us the whining, I think we have enough whining as it is...lol.
  9. Some bloops and soft grounders really hurt the team tonight, but it's not like they pitched great. This team hasn't scored more than 4 runs in any games, wins or losses. Tanaka really settled in after the early runs, he looks as advertised, it must be so difficult for hitters to tell his splitter from his fastball.
  10. The board's just trying to keep up with the tempo of the game.
  11. Tanaka's splitter is as advertised. Batters think it's a fastball only to see the bottom fall out of it.
  12. See, injuries hurt the Jays even when it's not their own player who's injured.
  13. Are they willing to defer money to sign Mr. Drew?
  14. Yeah, I just think Tanaka looks like a #2. He could certainly get bombed, no doubt, but I think he'll pitch quite well. Hopefully, McGowan and whomever follows him on the mound match him.
  15. I think they've made it clear defense is their priority at 2B and SS as well with Reyes out, especially since they've only played 4 games.
  16. Hopefully, McGowan and the Jays pitch well tonight because they're gonna need it with Tanaka pitching for the Yanks. Boy does he look studly or what?
  17. I'm certainly hoping for a well-earned win, last year's opener was so anti-climatic and was a sign of bad things to come.
  18. I think any rational poster knows this...thread!
  19. Can't expect better than 2-2 when your offense scores 11 runs in 4 games. I started watching the game after Morrow gave up the 4 runs so to me he looked ok. I think he should be better as he pitches more. Remember, he missed most of last season, let's hope he stays healthy. Way too early to draw any conclusions.
  20. I think Sierra plays tomorrow, he's the only one with no AB's so far in this season and Biggons will want to give him some AB's...Zaun will be pissed.
  21. I thought Navarro had a decent game. Threw a runner out and made the opposing pitchers work, big improvement right there over the former Jays catcher.
