  1. Why not have the daily minor league GDT on the main forum and move it back to the minor league forum at the end of the day? I don't see why that would be a problem, I mean, there are unnecessary threads started every other day on the main forum and I don't see much of a problem. At least we wouldn't have to leave the main forum to check on how the minor leaguers are doing in their games. After all, following the few prospects is one of the things some of us were looking forward to doing given the iffy MLB team we expect.
  2. I completely agree that a healthy Reyes would be great to have. However, part of what I'm saying is that even with Reyes raking last year, the offense still struggled almost as much as this year. Remember, Lawrie was injured to start last year and Bonifacio and Izturis were at 2B as well so the offense was giving away AB's last year as well. I just think that if EE, Rasmus and Lawrie weren't struggling as much as they are, the team could better-absorb Reyes's absence for 12-15 games. I do think that it's a good sign that the team is 6-6 with the offense struggling so much. The question is, "is the solid pitching here to stay or is it a mirage?". If the answer is yes, then I think we're all pretty confident the offense will do its part which could put this team in contention. We'll see what happens.
  3. I meant over the period Reyes was absent. Reyes got hurt on game #10 last year, IIRC, so he was playing in the first 10 games last year and the offense was still cold, like you correctly point out. I'm just saying that the offensive struggles are not because Reyes is on the DL. If guys like EE, Rasmus and Lawrie were hitting closer to their projections or career averages, Reyes's absence wouldn't be talked about as much. It just looks like a good old offensive slump to me.
  4. I thought he got hurt in Florida this year and at KC last year on an awkward slide? Could be wrong I guess. He missed far more time last year and the offense didn't struggle nearly as bad as they have this year...in all of 12 games. EE, Rasmus and Lawrie's struggles are more to blame for the lack of offense than Reyes's absence over 12 games.
  5. I'm not convinced Reyes will make it back.
  6. All I know is Norris had another good game yesterday.
  7. I don't know man, the defense has shown improvement all around. I don't get this complaining over Rasmus. I mean, Rasmus would be positioned towards left-centre against Lombardozzi as they wouldn't expect him to pull the ball and hit it so hard, he's not exactly a power hitter. This is an overreaction. Delete thread.
  8. Terrible ump. On another note, both Rasmus and Lawrie fouled off hittable pitches. At least they recognized them and swung at them, glass half full here.
  9. Another question is: Does Diaz have an option? If he does, I think they send him down. If he doesn't, I think they'll be hesitant to risk losing him. I hope Izturis is in fact rebounding and it's not just a hot streak, that would be nice. As far as Goins is concerned, we all know his bat is terrible, but I do think he's pressing and actually feel bad for him. I hope he gets a couple of hits to lift his morale.
  10. So who goes down or gets waived when Happ and Janssen get back? Wagner is 1 choice, but what about the 5th starter and long reliever situation with Happ, McGowan, Rogers and Redmond? It would be nice if a trade was made, but seems early for teams to be in trading mode.
  11. The fact that Jon Daniels was reportedly very interested in Santos should tell us he's got good trade value. With a shaky starting rotation, I can see why AA might've been reluctant to weaken the bullpen, unless he was getting a starter in return to strengthen the rotation. I actually doubt Janssen has much trade value even before his latest injury, he's just not a guy GM's would consider a shut-down closer, mainly because he doesn't throw hard enough. I actually think Delabar and Cecil have more trade value than Janssen, but I could be wrong, of course.
  12. If it wasn't for Jays' pitching, the team might be off to a 3-8 start...go figure!
  13. The fact that he doesn't let his offensive struggles affect his defensive game seems to contradict this.
  14. No way Cabrera catches that last year, good thing we're in this year.
  15. I thought the Jays were playing the O's not the Astros?
  16. Lawrie. He likes hitting at Camden Yards (I think).
  17. That looked bad. I think Delabar almost got hit the other day as well on another line drive back to him.
  18. Another errorless game. We all know they need Rasmus and Lawrie to get it going offensively, but playing well defensively will help the pitchers.
  19. s***, that's bad news on Jimenez, at least it's not the elbow.
  20. On the other hand, Moore might be cheap enough to have as a 5th starter for them so who knows. May depend on what they get for Price.
