I think I saw something posted on here from last year that said Karlsson was the most valuable defenseman in the league according to advanced metrics, and he was still only rated around 45th overall in the whole league or something.
Does that sound about right?
I don't believe anyone in here is genuinely excited over this move.
Unless Leon suddenly figures it all out in AAA, hopefully he never pitches an inning for the Jays. If he does have to in a pinch, let's all hope he doesn't completely suck. There's a wee bit of upside left.
This move is what it is: AAA depth.
Being a salesman (in the plumbing industry, for example) is the same thing. There are many jobs out there that require continuous work outside of work hours.
Let's not pretend that being a GM is some sort of unparalleled profession.
Ditto. I always followed other sports, but they were always very secondary to hockey. Baseball has completely dethroned hockey atop my list, and NFL has even passed hockey for me.
It's funny. I grew up completely obsessing over hockey, and over the last eight years or so my affinity for the sport has gradually dwindled down into its current non-existent state.
Like, I just don't give even the slightest of f***s about the NHL - it's soooo boring.
I'm pretty interested to see how AA fares in this new role. I guess I've never thought of him as a particularly astute scout, but maybe there's some seemingly untapped knowledge in that man's head.
In about a month, Espinoza will be pretty much a household name in the prospect lists. Generally, players as far away as he is wouldn't get that much love yet, but he's a potential ace and Red Sox, soooo yeah. Top 50.
As a Montas owner in BBDL, this would displease me greatly. I think he really could be a guy given the opportunity to start.
If this is the case, I don't understand the trade for the Dodgers. Your Fernandez theory actually makes a lot of sense.
