  1. Reds down 4-1 in the 5th with 1 out and Billy Hamilton on first, and Votto bunts him to 2nd.
  2. I'm assuming nobody wants Cody Anderson?
  3. Ugh, this is a 20-team league. An unproven reliever with decent but not great projections is the definition of replacement level. That's not a shot at you or him, he's just not materially better than other relievers on the waiver wire.
  4. Why would we care about the opinions of a guy that lives in a mud hut and has relations with livestock?
  5. Well projections have Vizcaino at barely a 2:1 K/BB and an ERA close to 4. He'd have to be racking up saves to have value with those peripherals. Jeffress might be a bit above replacement, but if he's better than guys like Loup or Baez, it isn't by much.
  6. They're both replacement level in this league. Vizcaino maybe worse.
  7. Omar Infante just took him yard lol
  8. I think Cody Anderson's voodoo has probably worn off.
  9. I've traded for 4 of my 6 relievers lol.
  10. Bullpens are underrated. I've had a top-4 staff despite having only 3 starters that haven't sucked balls.
  11. Maybe like a Santiago Casilla type, with a firm job but not elite numbers.
  12. I just meant in general I don't think most teams consult their analytics departments at all.
  13. Look at the 9th place team to see what was actually required though: 2014 - catsass 148-143-17 2013 - silvergun 148-136-24 15 games over 0.500 should definitely get you in. Possibly as little as 5 or 6 over.
  14. If you could beat speedy as payment for violating me, it would start to make up for the pain.
  15. Can we just remove Upton and Pillar and call it a deal?
  16. I'm pretty sure this could not be more wrong for like 27 or 28 teams.
  17. If I can beat up on Boxy and z3r0s and go 0.500 against slayers, min, jaysblue, and havok I'll have a chance. Really, I'm just playing for pride at this point and trying to win as many games as possible though. The playoffs are a longshot.
  18. I'd have no issues taking on Shields' contract. If I'm betting on a pitcher to stay healthy and productive for three more years, he's near the top of my list.
  19. Can't play the 'what if' game. I'm 4-23 against Hurl and Gibbers. If I'd just gone 14-13 I'd be 6th and likely headed to the playoffs.
  20. Yeah, I'd love to add Robertson or Kimbrel. I think people now kind of underrate the value of having 60-70 super elite innings from the pen.
  21. I'm definitely in for doing something, just not at significant long-term cost for a rental. Hamels would be awesome. Edwin for a pitcher could make sense. Fiers. Gerardo Parra might come surprisingly cheap.
  22. I feel like Tyson Ross isn't the kind of pitcher to make a significant commitment to. Two straight years with a declining fastball velo and awful mechanics that result in awful control and make him a huge injury risk. I'd be all over him as a free agent on a short term deal, but I'm definitely not moving top assets for him.
