    Brett Cecil is one of the more interesting cases on the team IMO. Projected at ~3.5M, and a free agent after that. I wonder if they try to lock up a couple of free agent years? Something like: 2016 = 3.5 2017 = 5 2018 = 5 2019 = 5 team option with 1 buyout. Who says no?

    A bit of both? He's probably an above average hitter, but not the monster his 0.400+ BABIP made him appear to be. IMO there's not really room for him and Smoak, and both are very undesirable everyday 1B options.

    Yeah, Smoak isn't good. Would have to be a trade in that case though, because outside of Davis there is nothing even moderately interesting on the 1B front.

    The free agent market is absolutely loaded. We could see 10+ 100M contracts. It's going to be a crazy offseason around baseball.

    yeah, it's actually bizarre. one year they had him for like 240 strikeouts and an ERA a bit over 3.
