  1. There should be a ban exemption on posters who have been contributing for 5+ years. Like message board tenure.
  2. All the casual fans thought he didn't look like he tried hard and called him lazy and a team cancer. The Vernon Wells treatment.
  3. Trading a 23-year old franchise player for prospects is a very bad idea.
  4. Sometimes a man just has to throw down
  5. You asked who on KC was a douche. I answered. Not sure how Bautista is relevant.
  6. Yordano Ventura is kind of the worst.
  7. I've been posting all year about how I find KC's roster construction pretty cool. I've made very similar posts about the Astros, Dodgers, Cubs, and Jays in the playoffs but when I make them for KC in a thread about the World Series I get called out.
  8. I just wrote a paragraph a few pages ago as to why I like KC. I like the Mets roster too.
  9. I'm not allowed to have a preference as to what team wins the World Series?
  10. Darwin Barney has elected free agency.
  11. I never thought I'd be saying this about a GMDM team, but I think they were craftily assembled. They don't have a huge budget, so they've played to Kaufman stadium by acquiring moderately priced mediocre fly-ball pitchers and filling the big OF with elite defenders. They then shorten the game with the lockdown bullpen.
  12. It definitely makes sense to evaluate Dickey based on RA-9 WAR. He's a knuckleballer who is great defensively. He's probably the biggest DIPS beater in the game.
  13. Was hoping the Royals would come back in the 8th.
  14. Come on Morales, get him in.
  15. Where are you getting Donaldson's reputation as a good clubhouse guy? He had a reputation as kind of a dick from I've read, and you get glimpses of it when you watch him (FYSMC, for example). If this team falls on its face next year, Donaldson is probably the first guy I'd put money on being reported as a clubhouse problem.
  16. And that comes down to having competent management. If you have someone so incompetent that the rest of the team literally can't do their jobs, you get rid of that person. RIP JPA
  17. I dunno, I find it pretty dubious. Liking your co-workers obviously has an effect on how much you like going in to work, but I've always found that a group's output is completely dependent on the team's level of ability and quality of management. And I don't think you can target players that will enhance chemistry. Throw Josh Donaldson, or Omar Vizquel, into one room and 22 guys might love them. Throw them into another and they might rub the majority of the room the wrong way. That's not to say that the team should force it's employees to deal with John Rocker or Milton Bradley, but that outside of a few guys who are batshit insane, it's probably not possible to know beforehand how well they'll get along with the people already in the room.
  18. How many people have worked in an environment where team chemistry (not managerial competence) was so bad it negatively affected the group's ability to do its job? I'm almost 30 and have never experienced this. I'm assuming most people haven't. Sitting around calling players team cancers seems kind of silly.
  19. He probably doesn't have the option of keeping AA around for a year. I think it will be a 3-4 year extension or nothing.
