  1. Come on Morales, get him in.
  2. Where are you getting Donaldson's reputation as a good clubhouse guy? He had a reputation as kind of a dick from I've read, and you get glimpses of it when you watch him (FYSMC, for example). If this team falls on its face next year, Donaldson is probably the first guy I'd put money on being reported as a clubhouse problem.
  3. And that comes down to having competent management. If you have someone so incompetent that the rest of the team literally can't do their jobs, you get rid of that person. RIP JPA
  4. I dunno, I find it pretty dubious. Liking your co-workers obviously has an effect on how much you like going in to work, but I've always found that a group's output is completely dependent on the team's level of ability and quality of management. And I don't think you can target players that will enhance chemistry. Throw Josh Donaldson, or Omar Vizquel, into one room and 22 guys might love them. Throw them into another and they might rub the majority of the room the wrong way. That's not to say that the team should force it's employees to deal with John Rocker or Milton Bradley, but that outside of a few guys who are batshit insane, it's probably not possible to know beforehand how well they'll get along with the people already in the room.
  5. How many people have worked in an environment where team chemistry (not managerial competence) was so bad it negatively affected the group's ability to do its job? I'm almost 30 and have never experienced this. I'm assuming most people haven't. Sitting around calling players team cancers seems kind of silly.
  6. He probably doesn't have the option of keeping AA around for a year. I think it will be a 3-4 year extension or nothing.
  7. I'm sure he's been pouring over the roster for months and has an idea about what he wants to accomplish in the offseason. He'd probably promote Tinnish or La Cava on an interim basis to handle a lot of day to day operations and spend a lot of time himself on GM duties this offseason. He has enough experience that I don't think things would collapse if AA walks away.
  8. What the hell is going on in this thread?
  9. I could see LA doing Puig + Urias or De Leon.
  10. Maybe he wants the forum's huge female population to know he's available?
  11. One thing you can say regarding Anthoupolus that you couldn't say a year ago is that he hasn't made moves recently that actively suggest that he places no value on analytics. There was a stretch of about two years where the only way his process made sense was if he ignored the nerds completely. It's probably been at least a calendar year since one of those.
  12. I know that was addressed to you you, but I'm not implying that you have a personality disorder. I just don't think they should go untreated.
  13. Personality disorders should not go untreated.
  14. So when you, multiple times, directed a post at me that included a suggestion not to form my opinion by taking a cursory glance at Steamer, you were in no way suggesting that I had formed my opinion by taking a cursory glance at Steamer. OK Grant.
  15. The entire exchange could have been pleasant if you'd posted your ideas about Estrada without taking the extra step of not subtly implying that I was misled by a bad habit of taking a cursory glance at Steamer and forming an uneducated opinion. This is the exact type of thing you do all the time, and it's why people find you so difficult to get along with.
  16. It's never a matter of "I think this and you think that and that's OK" with Grant. It's "I think this, you don't think properly".
  17. Yeah, if he keeps putting up 4-win seasons it's a loss, probably. But I'm still expecting him to go full Bonifacio.
  18. Please stop posting again.
  19. The Dee Gordon/Howie Kendrick sequence might not work out. In Howie Kendrick (plus comp pick) Kike Hernandez Chris Hatcher Austin Barnes Out Dee Gordon Dan Haren Miguel Rojas PTBNL Actually, that will probably turn out fine for LA.
  20. Those two moves + the Anderson and McCarthy signings. One of which worked well, and the other could still work well.
  21. The implication being that I was lazily appealing to steamer, which is clearly condescending, but I digress. You're difficult to get along with Grant.
