    His promiscuity is actually really good for the forum. One of his recent conquests is now a valued forum dynasty league member.

    I don't have a strong enough opinion of his defense to really care either way. But he likes playing defense, almost certainly considers himself a stellar defender (reinforced by the gold glove), and would probably be very publicly upset about being taken out of the field less than two years before free agency. There's no way the team picks that fight, especially without a clear alternative in place. And I don't really blame them.

    I mean, post to your heart's content about how much you want Vlad at DH full-time, but it isn't happening.

    All of that checks out. Bo in particular has played shortstop like a 36-year old career corner infielder being asked to cover it in an emergency. He's not getting to anything, and what he is getting to he's throwing away a good portion of the time.

    Davis Schneider is now projected for a 114 wRC+ and 1.9 fWAR in 364 PA. He's a top-4 hitter on the team. He needs to be in the lineup every day.

    At what point is it OK to point out that Bo and Vlad haven’t played very well on the road trip? The comments about Bo came minutes after he hit into a double play and then botched a ground ball defensively in the 9th.

    Agreed, but I wouldn’t single Vlad out because Bo has been atrocious defensively. He’s going to be awfully surprised at the lack of interest in him as a SS come free agency.

    No, I understand that people are going to disagree. I'm just not sure what you get from "lawl the HIVEMIND WAR cultists must be thrilled with Varsho and his -81 wRC+ this year because defense" posts. It's just dumb.

    I'm not sure why you always come here looking to argue, but people thought Varsho was going to provide elite defense and about the same offense as Gurriel. That obviously hasn't happened and it seems like it probably won't.

    And what Gurriel does now is irrelevant to the trade. He was a free agent a few months ago, and any team could have signed him.
