  1. I'm about 85% sure I'm cutting him in BORED.
  2. OF maybe? Fowler is fine, and Heyward will play, but their 3rd spot has been a revolving door Szczur/Almora/Contreras/Soler/Coghlan. It's been productive, but they'd probably like to consolidate that into one 3+ win player. I guess a good controllable starter would be nice too. Hammel, Lackey, and Arrieta are all in their last seasons of control in 2017, and probably none of them will be back. But yeah, these are luxuries, not necessities.
  3. They should probably just trade him to a team that needs a 1B or DH. They don't really need his C innings with Contreras and Montero around, and by all accounts he's not even good anyway. Maybe the bat really explodes if that's all he has to focus on.
  4. Yeah, me too. Will he even have C eligibility?
  5. Well this year Martin ranked 307 and Perez 483, and I believe Martin has been significantly more valuable each of the last 4 years. Perez's age is nice, but it only counts for so much when he's pretty fringy.
  6. I think he's less valuable than Martin, and clearly more valuable than McCann and Wieters. But that only makes him a fringe keeper for me. How many catchers should even survive the cut this year? The obvious ones: Lucroy Posey Gattis Grandal Contreras Martin Sanchez Ramos (somebody will roster him for the season, and probably regret it) I think we'll see fewer than 15 catchers retained, with close to half the teams in the league picking someone up in the waiver draft.
  7. I've always found him a bit interesting. A catcher who plays every day, has HR power, and contact skills is always going to be interesting in a 20-teamer. But then he added 7 points to his K%, and it makes me question whether he'll get his OBP back over 0.300, which he has to do to have any kind of value.
  8. I keep circling back to Salvador Perez on Dinger's 'available' list, but that 0.285 OBP is just a bit too much for me to stomach.
  9. That's embarrassing. Not only could the old f***s not keep up with the young Red Sox, the geezers are pulling muscles jogging in from the bullpen for a brawl with the young Yankees.
  10. I don't think anyone really cares about people adding guys they're going to cut anyway.
  11. Wow, only 7 catchers ranked in the top 400 in DDL value this year.
  12. Never trust a catcher who's not Buster Posey.
  13. Is Lester available?
  14. Will consider moving Freddie Freeman this offseason.
  15. Well, Ramos finally exploded. At least he waited until the end of the fantasy season to tear his ACL.
  16. Also, you didn't give up assets for Fielder. I drafted him, then dropped him after his retirement.
  17. Short answer: because we do this for fun, not as a business, and it's easy and painless to go at least some of the way towards compensating someone who tragically loses a huge part of their team.
  18. He's the obvious choice here in the DDL. I have no idea who else is worth considering for BORED.
  19. Maitan is owned here, right?
  20. I'm certainly not comfortable assuming that havok is a sexist who will ignore half the population.
  21. Regarding the Fernandez compensation for havok, spittin and I have decided to follow the DDL's lead. The proposal is as follows: - Havok can choose any two unowned players/prospects he wants. - At least one of these players must already be signed by an MLB team, but the other need not be. So guys like Otani, Thames, Gourriel, and projected 2017 draftees are in play. - Prospects owned by an MLB team will not count against his prospect limit until the 2017 MiLB draft cut down. - If he chooses an unowned prospect he/she will count against his prospect limit at the first cut down after their signing. - If either prospect is traded, they count against the other team's prospect limit immediately. If havok, or anyone else has a serious grievance with this, please make it known ASAP. I'm thinking that havoc has until Sunday, October 9th to make his selections, unless he absolutely can not choose by then.
  22. We have the three drafts archived on it, and it would be nice to have a league history page.
  23. Hey z3r0s, how can we convince you to add something like that to the LOD sheet?
