The League of Despair is a 30-team 9x9 scoring league with 25-man rosters and 15 man farms, and we're entering year 3. It's a deep league, and it will despair you. The team that's available has been run into the ground by the very dumn Dr. Dinger and finished dead last this year. It has some nice pieces for the future though: Yuli Gurriel Orlando Arcia Giancarlo Stanton Byron Buxton Lucas Giolito the corpse of Matt Harvey Kenley Jansen Prospects: Bellinger, Bader, Vlad Jr., Montas, Newcomb, Kaprielian, N. I'd do that deal, but I get the impression that Colorado doesn't realize how little trade value Cargo likely has this offseason.

Yes. I'm pretty sure it was reported that they had budget room in 2016 and chose to use the money this way to save room on the 2017 budget. Hopefully someone can find the article.
