Also an option. What teams might find themselves in need of a shortstop? The Pirates maybe? Darkhorse: the A's. I dunno, I think we'd have to eat a lot of cash in either case, though they certainly have the prospect capital. Especially Pittsburgh.
I still don't think anyone would want to take on a 3/58 commitment after this season for what looks like a league-average player who will play all of next season at 33. What teams have the need and financial ability to throw that kind of money at average production? I don't see any.
Is it really necessary that any post about the lack of young above average talent on the MLB roster contain an asterisk stating that, as with all 30 clubs, the farm might yield some good players?
