  1. Grant is once again taking shots at Boxy over the Mariners' offense in the Around Baseball thread. What a weird hill to die on. Objectively, wrong, and not only will he not admit it, he keeps bringing up how right he was.
  2. I'm more worried that he'll be relegated back to platoon status because of the slow start. Guy finally gets a chance, and is blowing it.
  3. Also, Willson Contreras maybe? Always beware the Dinger pump and dump darlings.
  4. Would you have done the deal without the Gio-Kazmir part? I think you would have, and that's the part that bothers me about that trade.
  5. Wow, pulled after 7 no-hit innings at just 100 pitches. That's some stones.
  6. Chen has a no-no going through 6.
  7. Imagine if we had signed Bautista for 5/100 last April?
  8. I legit feel terrible for Pearce. He finally gets a chance to play everyday for a new team, and has completely s*** the bed.
  9. Man, we could really use Pearce.
  10. I don't think njh is in any danger of getting the short end of the stick in the Correa trade.
  11. Probably, but as Dinger points out, he could probably use a bit more seasoning in AAA. Hopefully this doesn't mess him up.
  12. Heyman reporting the Starling Marte got caught for PEDs. Nightmare season for TRM.
  13. Let the Austin Meadows era begin!
  14. Barnes is actually good, so he has that going for him relative to guys like Leon and Tepera.
  15. Also an option. What teams might find themselves in need of a shortstop? The Pirates maybe? Darkhorse: the A's. I dunno, I think we'd have to eat a lot of cash in either case, though they certainly have the prospect capital. Especially Pittsburgh.
  16. I enjoyed them last year when they had Miller, Betances, and Chapman in the pen. That was fun.
  17. I still don't think anyone would want to take on a 3/58 commitment after this season for what looks like a league-average player who will play all of next season at 33. What teams have the need and financial ability to throw that kind of money at average production? I don't see any.
  18. Never trust a guy with no chin.
  19. I don't think a single person on this forum mocked the idea of Thames. Pretty much everyone wanted him.
  20. Is it really necessary that any post about the lack of young above average talent on the MLB roster contain an asterisk stating that, as with all 30 clubs, the farm might yield some good players?
