  1. Nice. Return should be better than what Eovaldi brought back.
  2. I have some interest in Bumgarner, at like a 3rd of the price TCA listed.
  3. Nice move by TB. Signing Ramos and Eovaldi while they rehabbed has worked out very well for them.
  4. Why would I care about Mejia or Hand?
  5. The Padres offseason was hilarious: - Took on Headley's $13M to acquire Bryan Mitchell. Cut Headley after getting -0.4 fWAR from him, and have received -0.9 fWAR from Mitchell. - Traded Enyel De Los Santos to rent Galvis for 2018. He's produced 0.4 fWAR for $6.8M. - Spent $4.3M on two years of Kazuhisa Makita. -0.3 fWAR so far. - Gave Eric Hosmer $144M, and he's at -0.8 fWAR. - Traded Solarte for Edward Olivares and Jared Carkuff. Have already released Carkuff and Olivares has a 92 wRC at 22 in A+ Literally everything they touched turned to s***.
  6. Preller really needs to be fired.
  7. Anybody want to trade for Trevor Hildenberger? He's been a top-200 player this year, and is going to put up 20+ holds. Other arms on the block: Godley Duffy Santana Buchholz Pomeranz Yarbrough Leake I'd like to move three of these guys.
  8. The Orioles did pretty well in that trade.
  9. You never actually specified that you meant just this year. See my sig for proof. Very wise to walk those comments back though.
  10. Have you guys recorded any podcasts yet?
  11. Given how free agency unfolded last year, Solarte really isn't a lock to have his option exercised next year. I think they'd unload him for a prospect similar to the two nobodies they gave up for him.
  12. If we can get literally anything of even remote value for Axford/Clippard that would be great.
  13. That's actually a pretty good comp across the board.
  14. I'm far too gentlemanly for gauche behaviour like that.
  15. Nice Tuesday morning you have going here.
  16. He's 20 and performing at a level Gomez reached twice in a 12-year career. You're so dumb.
  17. Hey Dinger, Acuna has a 120 wRC+ and is on track for 15-20 homers in ~ 450 PA in the majors. He’s also 20.
  18. tb.25 is pretty crazy too:
  19. Tulo because he's a massive sunk cost and it wouldn't have been possible to move him. Martin because he wouldn't have had any trade value, and there was no reason to dump him for whatever salary relief might have been offered. Sanchez because his value fell off a cliff after his age-24 season. Of the four you can only really make an argument that Donaldson should have been traded by now. But there were reasons for keeping him into 2018, the most obvious of which being that they were still interested in extending him long-term if they could get a reasonable deal. His 2018 has been disastrous, but maybe that means we get him back on a 1/25 deal in 2019.
  20. I'm surprised that people are saying that there's no plan. The plan has been pretty obvious and consistently executed over the last three years IMO: set the foundation for a team that can compete perpetually, while also taking a swing at a WC in the interim. They've been completely averse to moving prospects for veteran talent, and to committing more than 3 years to any player. We're watching a team attempt to transition from a team with a short contention window to a team that competes every year, and to do it without fielding complete dogshit. I think they've done a nice job so far: the farm is now top-10 in the league, and we're starting to see a lot of depth being built beyond Vlad. They've made some moves that haven't worked out (Morales, Garcia), but the reason why they're sticking to these low-mid range moves at this stage is that no serious damage is done if they miss on them.
  21. Also, we’ve decided that spittin and jays_fever will have until midnight to make their last picks before they evaporate.
  22. Still looking to move a back end starter for a 2nd MiLB or 1st waiver, or possibly a C.
