  1. Hey Dinger, Acuna has a 120 wRC+ and is on track for 15-20 homers in ~ 450 PA in the majors. He’s also 20.
  2. tb.25 is pretty crazy too:
  3. Tulo because he's a massive sunk cost and it wouldn't have been possible to move him. Martin because he wouldn't have had any trade value, and there was no reason to dump him for whatever salary relief might have been offered. Sanchez because his value fell off a cliff after his age-24 season. Of the four you can only really make an argument that Donaldson should have been traded by now. But there were reasons for keeping him into 2018, the most obvious of which being that they were still interested in extending him long-term if they could get a reasonable deal. His 2018 has been disastrous, but maybe that means we get him back on a 1/25 deal in 2019.
  4. I'm surprised that people are saying that there's no plan. The plan has been pretty obvious and consistently executed over the last three years IMO: set the foundation for a team that can compete perpetually, while also taking a swing at a WC in the interim. They've been completely averse to moving prospects for veteran talent, and to committing more than 3 years to any player. We're watching a team attempt to transition from a team with a short contention window to a team that competes every year, and to do it without fielding complete dogshit. I think they've done a nice job so far: the farm is now top-10 in the league, and we're starting to see a lot of depth being built beyond Vlad. They've made some moves that haven't worked out (Morales, Garcia), but the reason why they're sticking to these low-mid range moves at this stage is that no serious damage is done if they miss on them.
  5. Also, we’ve decided that spittin and jays_fever will have until midnight to make their last picks before they evaporate.
  6. Still looking to move a back end starter for a 2nd MiLB or 1st waiver, or possibly a C.
  7. That’s a huge influx of talent.
  8. Lots of interesting pitching in the low minors for Philly.
  9. I took those two in the DDL draft.
  10. Probably give them one day or something.
  11. Fun fact: when you traded for him he had a 211 wRC+. Since you traded for him, he has a 66 wRC+.
  12. Big thanks to whoever's been keeping the spreadsheet updated during the draft.
  13. Matt Carpenter can go suck a lemon
  14. Reid-Foley aside, I don't think many people here see those guys as more than what they are: potential back of rotation starters who could maybe spend a few years eating some innings for the minimum without embarrassing themselves. It's objectively a good thing to have a bunch of potentially useful young arms in the AA and AAA rotations. We haven't had that for awhile.
  15. It's still nice to have the young depth. You never really know when one of these guys will just keep getting outs in the majors and give you Fister/Quintana kind of production for a few years.
  16. Starting to assemble a lot of pitching depth in the upper minors for the first time in awhile: Borucki, SRF, Pannone, Harris, Zeuch, and Murphy could all start games in the majors next year.
  17. Biggest needs in St. Louis are what, a 3B, 4th OF, and RP help? Hard to see a fit there unless they really like Ryan Tepera.
  18. Leake, Yarbrough, or Buchholz for a 1st round waiver pick?
  19. My point was that those numbers aren't really impressive for a guy playing at his peak. He's not even been more valuable than CJ Cron.
  20. He's projected to go 21-72-70-3 and like 275/375/475 in a 135 wRC+, 4-win season. If he were a Yankee he'd be a fantasy stud.
