I really hope the team is respectable this year, because I don't want ownership either firing him or forcing him to expedite timelines. There's no doubt in my mind that Shapiro will build a powerhouse if allowed to do so.
Cahill would have been a good get at that rate. Still some interesting names on 1-year deals who would likely be attracted to the opportunity afforded by our lack of depth:
Shoemaker
Buchholz
Anderson
Hellickson
Holland
Sanchez
Santana
Pomeranz
I’d take a flier on any two of those guys.
I have not seen anyone articulate a single valid reason for regulating the shift. Drop a goddamn bunt down the opposite field line if you're tired of grounding into the shift.
Resisting the pressure to continue pushing chips in an effort to continue to compete with the ageing core was huge. We could be the Tigers. Instead, we're two seasons from having no bad money on the books, a loaded farm, and deep 40-man.
Yeah, this is an option. I would like to at least see if Jim (or anyone else) can dig up interest from another site. It would be fun to add new players to the league, and if they suck we can revisit next year.
I still have no idea how we’re going to handle this. It will be nice when the Jays aren’t awful and this forum is more than the same 10 people shooting the s***.
So my three finalists for best poster were Boxy, J4L19, and P2F. But J4L19 has just quit the forum for the 13th time, so I guess it's a two-horse race.
I’m not sure what to tell you man. I saw last night that he was Canadian and it surprised me. Maybe I’d read it before and then forgot because I didn’t give a s***?
