  1. Freddy f***ing Galvis
  2. Joe Biagini has broken my heart.
  3. f*** you guys, Joe Biagini has been a godsend this year. Would you prefer two innings of Daniel Hudson?
  4. That AB was not enjoyable to watch
  5. Well, Tim Mayza has found it
  6. Meh. I think's it's closer to 4.5 true talent, and I don't want him extended if that's his skill level, especially given how hard a time he has staying healthy. So for me he's trade bait, and nobody is trading anything of consequence for a back-end starter, but they might for a very good reliever, if he can go to the pen and have his stuff play up.
  7. Good god what a terrible send.
  8. 3 games. I think he's an injury-prone back end starter who will give you an ERA in the 4-4.5 range when he's healthy. I'd still like to see what he'd do in the bullpen.
  9. His xFIP is almost 5 Grant
  10. Drury seems to play a legit great 3B
  11. I think Aaron Sanchez still sucks maybe
  12. I have not been impressed with Socrates Brito.
  13. He was always going to have to mash to keep an MLB spot, and he's legit mashed this year. Him and Thornton have been the biggest positive surprises for me.
  14. Tellez. Get your brooms out boys.
  15. Welcome back SMoak
  16. I've never been less happy about a deal, but I accept.
  17. Holy hell the waiver wire is dire right now. There isn't a single guy with SP eligibility that I even want to take a flier on. I even went to David Hess' fangraphs page this afternoon to try to talk myself into him.
  18. I'd give you something for Lester. Edit. Actually I wouldn't. Didn;t realize he's hurt.
  19. Maybe delete this and read the other posts I’ve made this afternoon, then respond appropriately to what it is I’m actually saying.
  20. I mean, it’s just the latest (and most egregious) of two years of data pointing in the direction of either major changes to the CBA or a lengthy work stoppage. The Braves held leverage here that they didn’t hold in previous years and won’t hold again in the next CBA (paltry salaries in team control years combined with massively deflated free agent spending).
  21. The owners were doing fine when players were getting underpaid early and overpaid late. Now they’re smarter and aren’t going to overpay late, but under the current CBA they’re still underpaying early. That has to change. Probably they’ll arrive at a system that does a better job of getting money to the best players, but until that happens the owners are taking the players to the cleaner.
  22. You're framing it as though money is being taken from older FAs and given to young players. That's not what's happening. Money is being taken from older FAs, and some of it is being given to young players, while some of it is being pocketed by owners. Total salaries have dropped two years in a row, and it will continue doing so as the mistakes of the past (Davis, Pujols etc...) expire without similar bad contracts replacing them. The PA is not going to accept a smaller share of revenues than they had in 2017. There will either be a mechanism for moving that money to younger players, or there will be no baseball. And the PA will be 100% justified.
  23. I'd be embarrassed as a Jays fan if Vlad signed this deal.
  24. No. They'll strike because of the situation that leads to deals like this: the fact they are drastically underpaid during their best years, and now aren't making up for it in free agency. Albies doesn't sign this deal under the pre-2017 economic model, and he also doesn't sign this deal if there's a system to pay him proportionately to his value earlier in his career. He only signs this deal in the broken system whereby players are underpaid early, and then never compensated for it later. The broken system where salaries have dropped for two consecutive seasons. It will either get fixed, or there will be a work stoppage.
