  1. Sure they are: they're saving the 5M that they'd be paying Pillar if they had kept him. If the team with like 70M or whatever in salary expenditures had to move 5M out to give Grichuk 5M, we're in real trouble here.
  2. I still think Pillar was moved to save 5M and not to give those guys a chance to play. We had and continue to have whatever the opposite of an OF logjam is. I'm pretty sure our OF is sub-replacement level for the season.
  3. Keep in mind that Jim believes that Pillar is currently a worse player than Alford, McKinney, and Teoscar Hernandez, so his ability to evaluate mediocre OF talent would seem to be highly suspect.
  4. There are 153 qualified hitters this year. Dwight Smith Jr. is dead last in fWAR at -0.7. He can't hit (79 wRC+) or field (-9 DRS, -6.1 UZR). He is a very, very bad baseball player.
  5. Boxy's 4th waiver should go to Boxy for my 3rd waiver for the trade that sent him MiLB 70.
  6. 59 L54 60 The Drunks 61 The Bad Guy 62 Chubs 63 Pendleton
  7. I don't know if Gurriel is good or not, but you need a new pejorative for him. His career BABIP is 0.326, which isn't even that high given that he hits the ball harder than most hitters. It would be like incessantly calling a pitcher some lame play on FIP-beater because he has a 3.5 ERA and 3.6 FIP.
  8. If you factor in longevity, connorp might be the greatest villain in BJMB history.
  9. The way I see it, Conine, Malone, and Bart were effectively cut at the deadline when they were removed from his farm and added illegally to his MLB roster. We're throwing him a bone by letting him move Bart back, but the other two ceased being his property at the time. Kind of like how someone wio had exceeded MiLB thresholds and not been promoted would be available to be plucked from his farm in this draft.
  10. Yeah, this is where I'm at too. - Lavigne drafted by connorp and then effectively cut at the cutdown, and was held illegally on his MLB roster. He was picked by J4L19 for spittin in the draft. - I'm not entirely sure where connorp got the rights to Conine, but he's a free agent now. - Bart was connorp's property and promoted illegally, but will go back down to his farm. - Bohm and Robert were legal promotions and will remain on his MLB roster. So connorp's draft is done, the Lavigne pick stands, Conine is available to be selected, and jaysblue is OTC. Everyone agreed?
  11. wtf, now connorp's entire column is missing from the 'Team Assets page'. Can someone with access to the desktop version of the sheet investigate/restore it?
  12. OK, please cut Lavigne from your roster. spittin gets him. And drop Bart from your Yahoo roster so he can go back to your farm. You'll just forfeit pick 67.
  13. spittin has another pick right now too
  14. Jimcanuck Ling JG34 Are all done drafting. Connorp is on the clock with a window that expires at 7:41 AM ET.
  15. Ling has a full farm, so picks 44 and 48 evaporate. Tyler Ivey is still available.
  16. I'm certainly not feeling too happy about his 52M extension right now.
  17. I just finished drafting a report typed in Century Gothic.
  18. I hope they keep him down until mid-April.
  19. The fact that a contender actually processed paperwork to get Andrew Cashner pitching for their team in a major league game is shocking, and if anything indicates that the market for pitching is as healthy as ever.
  20. At least he didn't pick Brett Lawrie in the 2nd round of the initial MLB dispersal draft.
  21. I don't think Winckowski would have been drafted if he weren't a Jays prospect.
