  1. So like how was Cal Stevenson included here? Luhnow wanted Sanchez and Biagini on his roster for the stretch, and was willing to part with Fisher, but absolutely refused to make the trade unless mildly interesting low-minors prospect Cal Stevenson was thrown in? Ross Atkins must be awful at poker.
  2. Guys, we no longer have to watch Sanchez walk 4 guys in 5 innings then leave with sore fingers and blame his defense after the game even though his xFIP for the start was over 7. This is a glorious day for Jays fans everywhere. Thank you Shatkins.
  3. Alejandro Kirk was included too?
  4. What are the odds that Sanchez has a better year than Shane Greene's 2019 next season? Greene just returned Joey Wentz and Travis Demeritte. The odds that Sanchez @ 5M or whatever was going to become so dominant in relief that he'd return much more than Derek Fisher are pretty long. Zero problem with them walking away from him now.
  5. Who's being blocked?
  6. Gennett to the Giants. Dyson to the Twins EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING
  7. This has been a lot more fun than waiting on most of these to trickle in in August.
  8. The fact that there was a good pitcher in there that the Blue Jays weren't smart enough to unlock...
  9. We're about to find out how good the Blue Jays vaunted advanced analytics and player development departments are. If Sanchez becomes Charlie Morton we should all be very, very concerned.
  10. Wow, Nick Anderson and Trevor Richards for Ryne Stanek and Jesus Sanchez.
  11. He's pretty much had 3 full seasons lost to injury since being drafted. The massive injury risk is part of the Ryan Borucki package.
  12. Yup. Giles is better than Greene, and control is the same. Whatever Detroit gets for him, we should have received more
  13. Trout discussions are starting to get serious. Top offer right now is: - top-tier ace - elite young MLB bat - early prime top-100 bat There's now a decent chance he moves.
  14. The Phelps and Hudson signings worked out great. They provided solid innings, then got flipped for intriguing guys with 6 years of control. Successful dumpster diving!
  15. Buy high sell low IMHO
  16. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-rockies-are-wasting-their-stars/ There's a table in this article that lists sub-replacement level fWAR for every team from 2017-2019. Without looking, guess who has the fewest!
  17. Meh. He's going to make about 5M in arb next year, and it's his last year of team control. I'd rather take what I can get for him this year and spend the 5M on something else than keep him and cross my fingers that he's a more valuable trade chip a year from now.
  18. Really hoping Sanchez moves. I never want to see him in a Jays jersey again.
  19. I'm guessing there was some concern that he might not return to previous levels next year. Fastball velo is down over 2 mph and he's not inducing swinging strikes. Hard to complain about them deciding to cash out now for a guy they find intriguing rather than roll the dice on him increasing his value a bit next year. He only has one season as a high-end reliever, so it's far from a given that he returns to that level.
  20. The hype on this forum over the stats of an 18-year old A-ball pitcher is out of control. These guys almost always break. Dude just went 5th round in the DDL and 2nd round in BORED like two weeks ago lol.
  21. Mike Trout.
  22. He never makes trades while drunk. I stopped sending him weekend trade offers after midnight years ago.
  23. I think it's defensible to prefer SWR to Reyes, but Reyes has established himself as a league-average MLB player at 23 and still has 5 years of control. And there's upside beyond that: he absolutely f***ing crushes the ball. 90th percetile xWOBA 95th percentile EV 93rd percentil hard hit %
