    There's a 100% chance he would have been criticized for using "off-field issues" as a sanitized euphemism for DV and had to issue exactly the same apology.

    Strongly disagree. The meaning and intent of the tweet were very clear to any potential reader, and a baseball writer should be able to draw attention to the on-field implications of a DV suspension without a disclaimer that DV is very bad. The criticism of him is uncharitable.
