They literally have zero other good players. It's going tio be Seager, Semien, Gray, and a handful of guys projected for 1-2 WAR. They don't even have a great farm. This is one if the worst rebuilds ever.
325M for an injury-prone player entering his age-28 season who hasn't even had a 4-win season since 2017. This is one of those 'albatross the moment the ink dries' situations.
I trust Gausman more than Ray going forward. As good as Ray was, there are two major red flags: he's a two-pitch pitcher, and his command has abandoned him for entire seasons at a time in the past.
I can't believe there's a heated argument in a thread about a Yimi Garcia signing. Well, I can, but its still silly. Not much to do here except throw our hands up and assume that Shatkins see things under the hood that they think make him a bit better than a reliever who will provide like 3-4 runs above replacement.
I just want to point out again how inept the Rockies FO is. Keeping Gray at the deadline, then not qualifying him, then watching him sign for 4/56 is hilarious.
Is baseball the only sport where voters basically just vote based on what they think about players on a personal level? I only follow baseball and hockey, and this kind of thing doesn't come up in hockey voting.
Freeman is extremely valuable, but I don’t think Desclafani and one of those 3B make up the difference between him and Ramirez. You should be getting another high end piece, and not 30+ year old mid roster players.
Stadium location makes a huge difference. I live in Ottawa, and I’d see a lot more games if I didn’t have to treck out to Kanata to watch a game. And that commute is apparently nothing compared to the one between TB and St. Pete.
