Tatis is a very attractive asset. Superstar talent entering his age-27 season and locked up for 9 more years at a 24.1M lluxury tax hit. Tucker is a couple years older, and you're probably talking like 10M more a year on the tax hit.
It's almost impossible to overpay for Tatis in terms of prospect capital.
Kyle Hendricks retiring
A bit surprised. He was serviceable this year, and would have been able to land a few million dollars again next year to eat innings as a 5th starter if he wanted to.
Seems like a lot of red flags, but we're all just looking at small snippets from Fangraphs.com guys. I'd be pretty excited if the Jays signed him. They have a lot more info than we have.
20-team, 26-man rosters + 15-man farm, 7x7 scoring. The league has been running for almost 10 years, and has a lot of Jays Centre forum posters
The roster needs some work, but does have Vlad Jr.
If interested, please send me a PM or post ITT
Apparently they also owed 15% of the 57M to his former team, so it was actually 3/66 or so. Not a huge deal, but I think it makes sense to prefer 1/22 to 3/66. I think he'll accept the QO.
Apparently Ponce touches 97-98 now, along with a vastly improved curveball and a good split. He just broke the single-season KBO strikeout record. Intriguing target.
Yeah I kind of thought they'd keep him around with his projected arb salary being about league min. He's shown enough to be given a 26-man spot IMO. I think he'll get a major league deal.
Tate and Burr outrighted and will hit free agency.
Pina also outrighted but will stay with the org.
Brandon Valenzuela added to the 40-man, giving us three catchers.
The problem with AA is that he has no social skills and doesn't consider his players to be people. That's how you end up assuming nobody on your team will ever get hurt, making a franchise legend cry because you don't want to offer him a contract, taking advantage of all of your players on horrible contract extensions, and assembling one of the most joyless teams baseball has seen in decades. Contrast with the sweater-vest wearing dork who just assembled the greatest vibes team of all time. If AA really wants to turn the corner as a GM he should intern here for a few years.
It's November 5th and the team has 11 hitters and 5 pitchers projected to be league average or better. Insane depth.
Feels like just yesterday when everyone was longing for the days of AA and his insistence that roster spots 15-40 don't really matter.
Surprised there were no takers for Imanaga on the trade market. He's only 31, and 3/57 isn't a huge commitment. Frankie Montas got 2/34 last year and he's awful.
