  1. Guessing Bruihl or Clase. Both are out of options and neither is likely to make the team.
  2. Kind of an odd move after the Semien trade. I guess he'll be the full-time DH
  3. I'm guessing it's Bruihl DFA'd to make room? I've never seen a pitching staff this deep in Toronto. It's insane: Hoffman Varland Rogers Garcia (if healthy) Nance (no options) Lauer Berrios Are probably locks if healthy. Then you have Miles who was picked in the Rule V. Bruihl is out of options. Then in AAA you have: Fluharty, Little, Fisher, Tiedemann etc... Like, the AAA crew is better than some teams' MLB pen. They can flip an arm or two for actual prospects if they want, because they don't actually have room for all of the pitching.
  4. More than I thought he’d get but who gives a f***
  5. Mark Shapiro is the best thing to happen to this franchise in actual decades. Great to have him stick around.
  6. BTW, Fangraphs correctly has Gimenez at a 19.37M AAV for CBT purposes https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/payroll/blue-jays
  7. How does a major league GM just not a address a glaring hole on a team built to win? They've received 3 fWAR combined from the shortstop position since the start of 2023, and 1.9 of that was Arcia in 2023. The solution this year seems to be Mauricio Dubon? Like, what are they even doing?
  8. Looks like what Baltimore did last offseason. It ended disastrously.
  9. They really could have used a Cease or Valdez. A 3-4 WAR horse to anchor their rotation. I like all 5 of their projected opening day starters in isolation, but all of them have questions heading into the season. As you say, they need a shortstop. And most of a bench, with the exception of a second catcher.
  10. Hoerner probably wouldn't be that expensive trade-value wise, as he's glove-first and a year from free agency. The team would definitely have the resources to acquire him, and then could recoup a comp pick after the season.
  11. Hoping for Tyler Rogers now that Suarez is off the board. I could also get on board with a 1-year Kenley Jansen deal. I guess Fairbanks kind of rounds out the top tier of available remaining arms?
  12. So 40M in CBT hit for two relievers and a 4th OF this offseason for Atlanta.
  13. This signing seems kind of stupid. They already have Profar/Harris II/Acuna Jr. every day in the OF. Murphy/Baldwin eating most DH days. 20M for a 4th OF who can't really play CF is just an odd use of resources.
  14. Yeah. The Mets have to add a big bat here, because they look like massive losers right now. And the only ones available are the ones we're sniffing around: Bo, Tucker, Marte.
  15. Throwing away Santander for free is definitely smart business. He'd get like a 1/8 + an option deal if he hit FA right now. Obviously the team sheds that commitment if they could. Moot point though because they'd have to eat almost the entire thing and there's no reason to do that.
  16. Not really sure what the Mets are doing. As things currently stand, McNeil, Vientos, Baty, and Tyrone Taylor are all in line for every day ABs, and that's not going to end well. They need to add like 3 bats.
  17. They're still in the top of the remaining SP market
  18. f*** that’s a good addition for them
  19. I still can't wrap my head around having a talent like Skubal and not wanting to pay him. At least when Halladay left here, it was because he was fed up with a decade of mediocrity. He didn't want to stay here. But I think Skubal would stay in Detroit for market value. They just don't want to pay him.
  20. The Tigers aren't going to be good next year, and that makes me happy because f*** the Tigers
  21. It's honestly pathetic that Detroit has seemingly conceded that they won't sign him. They've been good enough that he'd likely stay if the money is there. So pay him the money. If he stays healthy he's on track to be a first ballot HoFer. Lock him in and people in Detroit will still be talking about watching Tarik Skubal's career 50-60 years from now. Detroit isn't even a small market.
  22. Is this a rumour or Bowden spitballing a possible trade? It's pretty good if Detroit is actually too cheap to keep Skubal.
  23. A lot of teams should be embarrassed for letting Diaz sign for that.
  24. Mets reportedly interested in Schwarber. I don't understand their lack of respect for Alonso. By all accounts he wants to be there and is well liked by everyone in the org. He's not going to get outrageous money - just pay him and have him chase 500 HR as a career Met.
