I'm a bit concerned about Trevor Story's ability to help me this year given his injury. I could flip him to a team that's re-tooling for a healthy player a bit lower in the dynasty value rankings. If the player is very old or markedly less valuable, could do Story for player + prospect deal. Best fits are 1B, CF, 2B

I think that viewing the trade deadline as an arms race is a good way to burn assets shorten your contention window. Playoffs are a crapshoot.

So the Angels were the high bidder for Syndergaard in the offseason, he's mostly been disappointing this year, and now they think he has real value? What a terrible organization.

The Cardinals are basically the anthithesis of the Padres: they make a big high-profile addition a couple times a decade, and mostly draft and develop their teams. They have 21 0.500+ seasons in the last 22 years, 15 playoff appearances, and 2 world series titles over that time. Preller is fun to watch, but he's reckless and the Padres are probably going to suck within a couple years.
