Didn't get to watch the game and it sounds like the defense was shoddy but it sucks that we have to rely on someone like James Paxton in high leverage spots. We don't have any guys in the upper minors with big stuff who would be better options?

Just looked it up and you're right. Last pitched in Indy ball in 2019 and just casually shows up every 3 years to pitch in the WBC.

AA's eventual firing is going to hit like crack. Dude leaves a mess behind here, then runs to LA to ride the coattails of actual smart people until a dynasty in waiting falls into his lap. Then promptly ruins that too. He'd probably be looking for a job right now if panic midseason trades for replacement level talent like Eddie Rosario and Jorge Soler didn't singlehandedly win a WS before regressing back into worthless plugs.
