  1. We can celebrate next year when Bogaerts goes full Tulo and Refsnyder is a poor man's Pedroia.
  2. Cool, Steamer thinks Refsnyder is a league-average bat at 2B.
  3. I think you flip before the season starts, right after the waiver draft.
  4. I got Robertson for a late 3rd last offseason. I could have made a 40-pick profit a few weeks later. I imagine that this is Boxy's strategy.
  5. Even if he's a setup guy, Boxy will be able to flip him for better than the 64th pick as soon as rosters expand. More rebuilding teams should be buying relievers on the cheap in the offseason IMO.
  6. Can someone please link me to the proboards site?
  7. Sad but likely true.
  8. The amount of really bright people who have passed through that front office must be staggering.
  9. It's crazy how they can offer downright insulting terms for skill sets in high demand and still get hundreds of applicants.
  10. Aren't those jobs basically min-wage short-term contracts?
  11. After watching Janssen, Santos and Delabar fall off a cliff this year, you think the offseason should be about investing heavily in relief pitching?
  12. It's funny because Draisaitl is only very marginally more valuable than Ehlers.
  13. Wo, there are no goalies available. I think all 60 guys with NHL jobs are owned.
  14. Anything in mind?
  15. There was every reason to believe Izturis was going to come in and provide league-average play, or close to it, at 2B. Yeah, 2/6 would have been better, but if you have the chance to land a guy who fills a huge hole, I can see why you throw the extra year on to get your guy. At the very least you're projecting 3 wins for $9 million over the 3-year term, and crossing your fingers that he provides more than that. The FO gets a complete pass from me on this one.
  16. lol, the guys who "busted" are irrelevant? Why? Draisaitl is far from a safe prospect.
  17. I actually liked the signing. It hasn't turned out well, but I don't think it was a bad move at the time.
  18. Also: if anyone wants to trade me a near-PPG player in his prime for Galchenyuk or Schenn, please PM me.
  19. recent 2-5 forwards taken: 2007 = JVR, Turris 2008 = N/A 2009 = Duchene, E. Kane, Schenn 2010 = Seguin, Johansen, Niederreiter 2011 = Landeskog, Huberdeau, Strome 2012 = Galchenyuk The only guys there you can maybe make a case for being on par with Duchene are Seguin and Landeskog. I have two of them (Schenn and Galchenyuk) and I wouldn't trade either for Draisaitl, but would not hesitate for a second to trade them for Duchene. There's just no upside. Duchene is almost a PPG game guy. The odds that Draisiatl reaches his level are low.
  20. Someday soon you're going to get f***ed by the giant dick of prospect attrition and stop making these deals. You're currently making trades under the assumption that most prospects reach their ceilings, when the reality is that most don't. Leon Draisaitl is more likely to bust completely than to hit 80 points in a season.
  21. Same type of deal he just made in this league. Trades that you have almost no chance to win are awesome!
  22. Wait, didn't you also trade Puig for prospects in the BBDL?
  23. Rub it in? Draisaitl has to become like a 90-point guy for you to be right.
  24. There's probably like a <5% chance Draisaitl becomes better than Duchene or Taylor Hall.
