  1. Why would North roster Owings past the cut? I like the House side of this.
  2. Really? It's pretty rare to see multi-year deals that don't take the player out of arb.
  3. Now would have been a good time to try and get a longer-term deal done. He'll be tough to keep after a big year with free agency looming after 2016.
  4. Cheap. Excelllent signing.
  5. Looks like my LOD team
  6. Can we keep Baltbbalfan and ban the other two?
  7. Hard to go wrong with a 6-8 M gamble on a guy with 4-5 win upside. He'll at least be a solid 4th OF.
  8. The Markakis deal was awful. I think letting all three walk was the right move. OF is fine with Pearce/Jones/De Aza and maybe a platoon partner for De Aza. They really should do something about the rotation though. I've been saying it for years, and they keep winning, but the rotation is not good.
  9. Ned Colletti please, for the love of God. He'd tank that org in no time.
  10. The rumoured Snider/Matusz deal would have been nice for both sides. Too bad it fell through.
  11. While you guys are here, what's happening with Matusz? He getting traded? I have him in my league, give me the inside scoop.
  12. You know him better than I do, but forcing your GM to continue on for 4 years in a job he tried to leave seems like a very, very bad idea.
  13. Where we differ is that I don't think an organization would actually continue on with a GM that wanted to leave for a promotion but wasn't able to because his boss demanded compensation far beyond any precedent. It makes Angelos look petty, and creates a poor front office environment.
  14. Regardless of what you feel is fair, there is zero precedent for that compensation. You like Duquette, so to you this feels different then every other similar situation, but it isn't. In the end if Duquette wants to come he'll come for a Pillar/Burns type, and if he doesn't want to come this will die.
  15. Then it won't happen. But I don't think he's foolish enough to create that toxic an environment.
  16. If there is mutual interest between Duquette and the The Jays, he'll be hired for minimal compensation. That's just how these things work. Angelos knows he can't deny Duquette an opportunity to advance his career, because if he does it becomes a very toxic environment in Baltimore's front office. People throwing out names like Stroman and Sanchez are out of touch. If that's the demand, Duquette won't be coming. And if he wants to come and that's the demand, he'll be gone from Baltimore within the year.
  17. Fujikawa will be collecting saves by May because Feliz is awful.
  18. Didn't even get taken in the LOD prospect draft lol.
  19. This is true. Trade looks really bad right now.
  20. He's better than his xFIP. Guy induces more infield flies than Chris Young.
  21. Yeah. Beane was able to land a near-elite reliever within less than a week. I don't buy that the Rays thought Escobar had negative value.
  22. Even then, I'm pretty sure Navarro would be a D'back by now if he had even good reliever value.
  23. I don't know, but the entire forum seems to think our $5 million replacement-level player has trade value.
  24. I don't understand why they're willfully ignoring the complete lack of precedent for pieces like Stroman and Pompey being exchanged for an executive.
