So 25-man something like: C - Martin 1B - Smoak/Valencia 2B - Santiago 3B - Donaldson SS - Reyes CF - Pompey/Pillar LF - Saunders RF - Bautista DH - Encarnacion Smoak/Valencia Pillar/Pompey Navarro Izturis SP - Sickey SP - Stroman SP - Buehrle SP - Hutchison SP - Norris BP - Cecil BP - Loup BP - Estrada BP - Belisario BP - Redmond (out of options) 2 of Sanchez/Guilmet/Lopez/Hendriks/Infante/Jenkins/Drabek/West Battles: - last two bullpen spots - Tolleson (out of options) and Kawasaki could take spots from Izturis or Santiago - Is there room for Dirks? Looks like he'd have to take a spot from Pillar/Pompey, but we probably need the CF platoon - Sanchez and/or Estrada could give Norris a run for the last rotation spot.

So what will Belisario command, like 3+ a 250K buyout on a 3.5 option?

Belisario is not worse than, say, Santiago Casilla. He'll come in and eat up 60-70 effective innings at a few runs better than replacement-level. You could to a lot worse on a 1-year deal.

This isn't true. Edit: apparently it is now: "This stat accounts for the following aspects of hitting: unintentional walks, hit-by-pitches, singles, doubles, triples, home runs. Stolen-bases and caught stealing numbers used to be included as well on FanGraphs, but they are now instead accounted for with the stats UBR and wSB. This way, wOBA only accounts for a player’s production at the plate."

Gibbers has a pretty predictable MO though. I still have no idea what KK is going to think of a given player.

Estrada looks like the best right-handed reliever in the pen (2nd if you're into Sanchez - not looking to start that debate). I think they'll want him in high-leverage situations.

There isn't really a point to holding Norris back as things currently stand. It would just be nice to add a Billingsley/Beachy.

I'm concerned about the rotation. If Norris is there to start, you have Estrada as a possible useful guy and nothing after him you'd expect to be above replacement-level. At least Dickey and Buehrle are about as close you can find to locks for 200 innings.
