I hate that logic. Team success in a given season isn't automatic justification for the acquisition of every player on the roster.

Well, for one Sandy Alderson has only been on the job for 4 years.

It feels like good teams are cutting better players than last year. I guess it makes sense, more separation between good teams and bad, and there are bad teams that will be protecting players not in the top-400 in keeper value.

It's kind of a shame, because Dickey has given the team two pretty solid seasons. If he had been signed to like a 3/40 FA contract or something we'd all be looking at it is a pretty nice buy. Unfortunately this was the texbook example of buying a player at his absolute peak value.

Baltimore ranked 20th. That list is invalid.

Steamer has him at 3 wins, and fan projections have him at 4 wins. Add another 1-1.5 wins for framing, and you have a hell of a player. He's good for a lot of the same reasons Russell Martin is good.

Mets could actually be sneaky good this year: C - d'Arnaud 1B - Duda/Mayberry 2B - Murphy 3B - Wright SS - Flores CF - Lagares LF - Granderson RF - Cuddyer Harvey deGrom Colon Wheeler Niese Montero/Gee/Syndergaard That's the best they've looked in awhile.

It's frustrating because I typed out a really long post the last time you brought this up, which you ignored, and now you're back on the same subject in another thread. If Navarro was a +10 framer and d'Arnaud -10 my opinion on their value would be reversed.

He's probably a +10 framer. Add that to the bat that's at least league-average and you have the potential for 4+ win seasons if he can stay on the field. I don't hold the Mets org in the highest regard, but I really hope they don't let the passed balls hurt their perception of how good he is.

d'Arnaud is currently a good major league catcher.

Dickey has been a solid mid-rotation workhorse starter, but obviously that's not something you give up Syndergaard and d'Arnaud for.

I wish yahoo would let you customize o-rank and in-season rank based on either 5x5 or 7x7 with SLG, OBP, hold, and K/BB.
