  1. MoccBomb apparently had the Candelario deal first. I believe him.
  2. If we sign Ohtani, how soon after Kikichi’s retirement is he added to the level of excellence?
  3. Imagine going on the internet and complaining that Ohtani isn't fulfilling his obligations to the sport of baseball.
  4. He was ubelievable. That injury looked bad though
  5. Oilers are on a heater. They'll be in the playoffs this year. And probably don't play in the NHL's version of the Trop.
  6. Did everyone have a good night? Today I spent 95 minutes driving from my place downtown to the place in the middle of nowhere where the Ottawa Senators play. Then paid $35 to park my car. Then paid $35 for two slices of pizza and a beer. Then watched my team lose to the leafs.
  7. Whit Merrifield available for a SP or RP
  8. The Reds have like 7 everyday infielders now
  9. Still no player opt-outs in any deals this offseason
  10. That's a really good signing. They needed the rotation depth.
  11. If this doesn't happen I'm not sure I'll ever emotionally recover
  12. I dunno, I just find 'young controllable SP2-3' to be a bit aggressive for a guy entering his age-29 season with two remaining years of team control and only 9 starts last year and 0 the year before. Logan Gilbert and Kyle Bradish are young, controllable SP2s. King is a talented arm that SD will hope to squeeze 40 starts out of before his arm falls off.
  13. King isn’t controllable or young though, and I think it will be a surprise if he contributes #2 SP value
  14. King is good, but he's had a number of elbow injuries and last year was the first time since 2018 he came anywhere close to 100 IP. He also comes with only two years of control. Decent chance NY cashed him in at the right time.
  15. Yeah seems fair. Padres probably would have been better off prioritizing upside, but Thorpe provides a bit of that. They accomplished what they wanted to. I don't think the Yankees will regret this either.
  16. Tiedemann + meaningful stuff probably. Seems they placed a big premium on getting volume MLB-ready arms, even though two of them aren't particularly good. I bet they asked for Tiedemann + Manoah
  17. I don't think it's really bad for NY. Vasquez and Brito probably suck and Higashioka is a backup C in his last year of team control. Spare parts. It's two years of King + Thorpe for Soto.
  18. Just assuming they start giving him more and more days at DH with his size and injury history. He's clearly a better OF than Soto, but Soto is still healthy enough to play there every day and those days might be over for Judge.
  19. They should probably just consider DFA'ing Stanton and be done with it. Use the DH spot to give Soto and Judge a couple days off a week. Unless Judge or Soto want to learn 1B.
  20. Probably counting on Stanton spending a lot of time on the IL. Their most common configuration will probably Soto in LF, Grisham in CF, Verdugo in RF, Judge DH.
  21. Mike Elias is lucky. Offseason work done until he signs Chris Flexen to a MiLB deal in February.
  22. Decent chance Thorpe is in their rotation for a good part of the year too. Two rotation spots filled for a total of like 3M is exactly what they needed
