  1. If the team has the willingness to spend 300-500 on a single player, that puts them in the market for mid-prime HoF level talent. The Harper/Betts/Judge tier of player. I hope they don’t get tunnel vision with Bo and Vlad. They can pick their spot here. Maybe it’s Soto next off-season. Or Sasaki when he’s posted. Or the Padres decide they can’t afford Tatis. Or Yordan Alvarez is the next Astro to hit the market. No need to hitch their wagon to someone like Vlad if they’re playing in the big boy pool.
  2. Hoornstra explained himself, kinda https://dodgersnation.com/from-the-editorial-team-at-dodgers-nation-an-acknowledgment-and-a-commitment-to-grow/2023/12/10/
  3. I don't know why he sucks. Maybe injuries sapped his skills? League average hitter, and a butcher at 2B. Not really sure what problem he solves for Toronto.
  4. Seems like the best fit of all the Reds infielders. They won't move McLain, EDLC, or probably CES. India sucks. I guess Steer is also a decent target, but I don't think I'd move Tiedemann for him.
  5. Rickey Tiedemann for Noelvi Marte. Who says no?
  6. Also Rays - Glasnow/Arozarena/Paredes
  7. I really hate it at the 200+M he seems to be in line for. I don't trust his bat at all. Would rather just sign one of Snell or Yamamoto
  8. I legit didn't have any idea this was a thing until today. I thought a 10-year 700M contract would be 70M a year for luxury tax purposes for 10 years, regardless of the payout structure/defferals. Absolute ******** if this isn't the case.
  9. So who does everyone want the team to pivot to? Still some impact talent out there: Yamamoto Snell Bellinger Glasnow Robert
  10. Commissioner's office might have to step in and curb this nonsense.
  11. JP Hoornstra absolutely nuked his reputation lmao
  12. Can't really be mad at Rogers for not ponying up 700M + whatever amount of luxury tax they'd end up paying. It's going to be hard to win the fans over this offseason though. Bellinger is a landmine, and there's not much else out there. Robert? Yamamoto? Chapman and Gurriel won't really cut it.
  13. It’s not obvious that the team would think Bo and Vlad are the best places to spend that money
  14. Very cowardly to not mention Jon Morosi in his article. Probably because Morosi has a relationship with Sportsnet.
  15. Yeah, it isn't clear that Hoornstra has done anything wrong until and unless Ohtani signs elsewhere. I just think it's silly for Shi Davidi to scold fans for believing people like him and Morosi, who is employed by MLB and regularly cited as an insider by Sportsnet.
  16. I didn't read the article, but fans were listening to an employee of MLB Network (Jon Morosi) who admittedly shared misinformation, and another writer in LA who's part of the BBWAA (Hoornstra).
  17. Scott Boras is a ridiculous person.
  18. lol, did you go to the airport just to scope things out?
