  1. I think I would have preferred a 7x7. Managing a 9x9 is a bit overwhelming, and I don't care at all about DICE, RC, or wOBA.
  2. Anything to keep Goins away from LHP. I never want to see him flail away at a lefty again.
  3. Muni maybe. I like Kawasaki as a bench player, and I'd have him up over Goins. Not sure how he'd look if asked to defend short everday and face LHP and RHP. Platooning the two while Reyes is out would be ideal as far as internal options go.
  4. Yeah, with several others capable had they been given playing time. Having a Util guy who can play short and maybe give you 10 runs above replacement over 400-500 PA is not too much to ask.
  5. Several teams. But that's beside the point because I'm not saying AA should have a league average backup ready. I'm saying he should have an above-replacement backup ready. Goins is not that.
  6. Yeah maybe. It's hard to see him ever be used consistently like that here. Reyes will never be pulled for a defensive replacement, and if Reyes is hurt Goins just defaults to the full time SS role.
  7. He's replacement-level. Possibly worse. The combination of his skills results in a player that doesn't belong on a major league team.
  8. I would suggest a new GM if the current one can't find an above-replacement backup shortstop in 3 years.
  9. Navarro would have been on the bench if Gibby hadn't pinch hit him for Smoak. I like Gibby, but yesterday was awful.
  10. Santiago, Izturs, and Goins suck. Kawasaki probably sucks. AA has had three years to find a suitable second shortstop to provide value in a utility role behind Reyes and the 2B revolving door has opted not to. That's on him.
  11. Yeah, I think this is it. I like the LOD, and have no intention of giving my team up or anything, but I have a lot more invested in the DDL, so I care a lot more.
  12. A lot of teams have a utility infielder that's a capable shortstop, and that need is exacerbated when you employ Jose Reyes. Goins is a replacement-level play and not suitable for a major league job in any capacity. You can defend this roster construction all you want, but this type of thing is a big part of what holds this team back.
  13. I'm happy to report that I still care infinitely more about this league than the LOD. I didn't know if that would be the case, but when I'm browsing games I always look for guys on my DDL team who are playing. DDL rules.
  14. I love Hawk Harrelson.
  15. you can put it on the boooooard, yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. This roster should have a second viable shortstop. Reyes is not reliable, and we're on season 3 with nothing but crap to back him up.
  17. Ride it out with Ethier and maybe a platoon guy until Coco Crisp is back. I haven't particularly enjoyed Jennings' contributions since 2013, and I've coveted Cishek for quite some time, so I figured I'd pull the trigger.
  18. Good. Estrada or Hendriks?
  19. I don't think it's as easy as just buying a starter before 2016. For 2017, Edwin, Bautista, Reyes, Martin, and Donaldson will cost in the vicinity of $100 million. That's five players. There are a lot of starters on the market this offseason, but anything longer than 1 year could mean Edwin or Jose walk pre-2017.
  20. Geltz should never have been in that game with Jepsen and Boxberger available. I get that he wanted to give one of them a day off, but you're on the road in a close game against a top tier offense. Worry about tomorrow tomorrow.
