  1. I figured, lol. Anyways, I agree with your statement.
  2. Is this in reference to the dynasty league?
  3. I have a feeling AA is going to be making a lot of moves this winter. No way he sits on his hands even if he has payroll constraints. Another poor season and I think he gets replaced.
  4. Unless AA is planning to trade some players or perhaps cut cost in certain areas to focus on bigger needs.
  5. A bit dramatic.

This should be a very entertaining season for Raptor fans. I like the overall mix on this roster and the depth on the bench. This team should be able to put up a tough matchup against most of the top teams and go on a few good runs.
  7. For some reason I think a lot of people here would rather go on thinking the organization simply couldn't afford him.
  8. Perhaps they want to allocate those funds to make Melky an offer. Really who knows though, most speculation turns out to be nothing anyways.
  9. Wow, just wow.
  10. No it isn't. Perhaps his demands were unreasonable and they didn't feel he was worth it. He should be more embarrassed that the Jays chose to let him go.
  11. This is really not a big deal.
  12. He must have has a virus that day.
  13. The opposing team gains from the park effects as well.
  14. Hitting is not more valuable in the RC, not in any park. Wins are more important, how they are obtained is irrelevant.
  15. Common sense can go a long way sometimes.
  16. Unfortunately most people don't understand this.
  17. Sure there are but why go through trial and error when you can just pay one of the best and be done with it. If they were a smaller org than sure, but they can afford it and considering how much they invest into the team, this is peanuts.
  18. It makes sense to compensate the guys who can identify the right talent well though. Friedman has a great track record and did more for the Rays than probably any other GM could have.
  19. This is true, but a good GM is much harder to replace than a good manager IMO. That being said, the Rays organization has to be s***ing bricks right now.
  20. Anytime someone mentions AA on this board there is probably something humorous involved.
  21. You realize I was joking about AA right? But I do stand by the notion that a strong rotation should lead to a better BP.
  22. This is why I am against moving Buehrle or Dickey (not that I expect either to get moved). Sure Buehrle makes more than he should, but as you stated the positive effect he has on the rest of the pitching staff cannot be undersold. To be honest, I like the Jays squad heading into 2015. We have a good mix of inning eaters, young arms, and offensive talent. This team has some serious deficiencies, but it can be fixed and I expect at least a couple to be worked out. We also have some contracts playing out their final years, so if we tank there are plenty of movable pieces to get this team in a better position for future years.
  23. My point was that it's better to leave less chance and have a rotation that can go deeper into games. Relievers are so volatile from year to year, there is no point in investing too much into them. Those same pens may end up blowing up next season and it wouldn't shock anyone.
  24. The secret to building a good BP is having a strong rotation. Someone should tell this to AA.
