  1. Updated the misleading thread title.
  2. How is that telling? That tells nothing. I highly doubt anyone in the Jays brass even suggested to Reyes that he move to 2B.
  3. Might see big crowds for the final home stand if they are within 2 games.
  4. I think the Jays epic collapse from a comfortable divisional lead back to mediocrity left a sour taste for most casuals.
  5. Your phone seems to be a dum dum.
  6. It's almost like people don't want to come out for a make believe contender.
  7. f*** friendship. We're in the middle of an extreme long shot playoff opportunity here.
  8. Orioles sweep would be the only ideal scenario.
  9. And ratings across the US will be terrible is the Jays make it.
  10. Who gives a s*** what anyone else does for a living? It doesn't really matter.
  11. Lind will be back and next season he and Mayberry will be platooning and providing one of the better platoons in the league. That being said, the roster will be a cluster f*** as a result.
  12. Only an idiot blames the manager.
  13. I have been on the keep him camp since we got him. Now that there is only one more year left and he and Dickey can easily eat 400 innings with a high probability, AA would be silly to move either. Both can be FA's by the end of next season (Dickey has an option), and with Norris, Sanchez, and Nolin vying for spots, they provide an ideal bridge. Not to mention the fact that both can easily be flipped at the deadline should the Jays be out of it.
  14. Trading Buehrle for salary relief is a terrible idea unless someone takes the entire contract. AA would have to eat salary, and even if he takes on $5M of his contract, are we really going to replace Buehrle for $14M and if we do then was it even worth it? I'd rather let Buehrle pitch out the final year and if we are in it, then keep him and let the contract run out, if we are out of it then flip him at the deadline. 1/19 looks a lot better than signing someone for 4/60+.
  15. It's nice to think we could just go out and get Martin, but there is zero chance that happens.
  16. Melky has to be a priority along with 2B. The pen also needs to be addressed, but not at the expense of Melky or 2B. Retaining Melky, slotting Gose and a platoon partner into CF, the addition of Mayberry to platoon with Lind and a legitimate 2B, this team will be fairly solid. The rotation has depth with Sanchez, Norris, and Nolin waiting for spots and the pen has holes, but nothing that can't be fixed.
  17. There are obvious holes and catching is NOT the top priority.
  18. So what do you suggest then? Break the bank on Martin and then run Izturis out everyday at 2B?
  19. Navarro is the least of our worries. Get a legitimate 2B and this team takes a big step forward.
  20. Were not getting Martin, zero chance.
  21. Closing this thread due to sheer stupidity.
  22. Ken I respect your opinion, but there is no chance this happens. Rogers can go to $140-150M or they can save themselves $20-30M, and likely cripple their attendance and ratings. It doesn't add up.
  23. Wild cards, sure, but Nolin and Norris could end up being solid RP for Sept. In either case, it doesn't really matter anyways. Jays are out of it.
