  1. A manager that has the best record in the division.
  2. I agree, nothing spectacular, but it was a solid move for that team in terms of needs. That being said, I was just trying to rile up the casuals.
  3. He has the potential to do it, but at this point if he can be a solid back end guy for us I would take it. We need cheaper SP options on this team if we have any chance of success down the road.
  4. Sure, but he wasn't the one who rid that team of all those contracts and put them in a position to be a force for quite some time.
  5. I wouldn't let Drabek or Hutch near this team until mid season next year. Let them get innings under their belt and take it slow. Hutch could be a solid SP for this team for quite a few years and who knows what we will get from Drabek, but he could be a decent back end guy or a late inning guy for us.
  6. Solid move for the Red Sox. It's sad to think they may very well have a better GM.
  7. Yeah I wish the deal never happened, but it did. This team needs to start moving guys now.
  8. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. The trade should be based on the time it was made, period. AA traded one of the top prospects in the game and a fast rising prospect as the main pieces for a 38 year old SP. That is just not smart management of assets. If this team were contending for the division at the deadline and then he made that deal, I would be much more accepting of it, but at the time Dickey wasn't needed, we had 5 possible options for the rotation and we really needed some depth which he didn't really address. AA just go caught up in the moment and made a colossal mistake.
  9. It's funny how people use that excuse.
  10. He very well could be, but only time will tell. It was a terrible trade no doubting that. I just hate when people take it as a certainty that he will be a star.
  11. Hopefully he can keep this up.
  12. More likely he won't be. Not defending the trade because I didn't like it either, but lets be realistic, most top prospects never live up to expectations.
  13. For anyone who still thinks this team has any chance I think the Orioles will squash that this weekend.
  14. If this was the intent all along then it was a good move by AA.
  15. I think it's fair. If Colby plays like this through the contract we win big, if he regresses we still could break even. I think the reward is higher than the risk if they could get him on a deal like this.
  16. Probably 4/50 with a team option or two.
  17. I am a big fan of Colby and I hope he does keep it up through the second half. If he does, his value is going to be quite high and I bet AA will look to extend him.
  18. In either case if JJ walks or accepts the offer, I would be fine.
  19. Yeah they should be solid depth pieces in the minors to start the year.
  20. The RHP depth behind Janssen right now: Delabar, Wagner, McGowan and Santos. Delabar would be next in line for closer, Santos has done it in the past and if he can stay healthy would probably be next in line after Delabar. McGowan and Wagner also could be options, but lets see a larger sample size first. Seems like Janssen could go and the pen should get by just fine without him.
  21. Trade Janssen for the best return period. Ridding this team of $4M salary for 2014, plus acquiring a cheap asset is what this team needs to do.
  22. You gotta think at this point AA will almost certainly deal one of Delabar or Janssen at the deadline, if not then likely this winter. Hopefully its Janssen as it would save this team $4M and get us a solid return. It's a luxury this team can afford to part with since Santos will be back and we also have McGowan and Wagner as our primary RHP in the pen.
  23. Possibly 3 first rounders next year in a deeper draft is pretty darn good. Who gives a f*** about Bickford.
