  3. LOL. Was hoping someone would go there and prove there are limits to the protection it provides. Hahahah. I was willing to take one for the team bout glad I didn't have to. #NotGay

  6. Yeah Red Sox will have a nice assortment of young and veteran position players next year. But they essentially need to buy 3-4 starters this off season. De Le Rosa may be legit. Buccholz may bounce back or may be finished, hard to tell. Who do they have MLB close in the minors?
  7. Just add #NotGay Try it with David Wright. Now THAT's a good looking guy. #NotGay
  8. I hate picking before the lineup gets posted but I always worry I'll forget if I wait too long LOL
  9. Yeah good point. People keep not even mentioning him. Tampa really wanted him. Curious to see how he pans out.
  10. Ah s*** DBacks season was f***ed anyway but still sucks
  11. Lawrie/Stroman >>> Smyly/Franklin and I'm not being a homer It is possible Tampa would have wanted an AL East "surcharge" for dealing within the division. In fact Davidi suggested in a recent column that this was almost certainly the case. Regardless, almost every single baseball columnist and sports talk show host thinks Tampa made a bad trade. The majority opinion seems to be that if the couldn't get a better package, they should have hung on for a playoff shot and traded him in the off season for an equivalent package then. We'll see in 2015 if they're right or not.
  12. Most teams would think having no chance at the playoffs despite finishing with 90+ wins would be stupid as well though. So every year you could have one problem or the other. And it'll always be that way unless they get rid of divisions and balance the schedule.
  13. Does Darvish have the same thing probably?
  14. Also found out this week that Cespedes' contract essentially exempts him from QO/draft pick compensation. I'm sure that factored in to the calculation as well. I'd never heard of such a thing before in a contract BTW. That seems very rare?
  15. SHI DAVIDI AUGUST 1, 2014, 9:30 PM HOUSTON – Toronto Blue Jays infielder Brett Lawrie went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored in six innings of work Friday as he began a rehabilitation assignment with single-A Dunedin. Out since June 23 with a broken right index finger, Lawrie lined up at second base but he’ll rotate between there and the third base throughout a stint manager John Gibbons said is expected to last “at least a week.”
  16. How many weeks since his last start in Buffalo? Does he really need to go back to be stretched out or.would Gibby let him go 4-5 innings per start for a week or so.then try to keep.him in longer? Also what is source for the 30 innings left??
  17. Seems that way Also.long thread title on small phone screen
  18. Seems inevitable now They didn't add a starter (yet) He's looked great out of the pen. Seems unlikely to be demoted the way Stroman was. Happ is a fringe starter anyway and has been decent but was the one who would have been bumped had we acquired Lester or Price (I presume) Hutch has been teetering on the verge of a 15 or 30 day DL stint if you ask me Think they do it? And if so, how soon.
  19. Gibby with an appropriate hook What is up with Hutch
