  1. It's not just the top 10 home run numbers that are up either even though Stanton is going crazy The reason seems to be way more guys hitting 10-20 than ever before
  2. Available free agent starting pitchers. Not likely any of these guys with opt-out clauses are going to opt out. Some of the club option buyouts could happen though. Brett Anderson (30) Jake Arrieta (32) Clay Buchholz (33) Madison Bumgarner (28) — $12MM club option with a $1.5M buyout Trevor Cahill (30) Matt Cain (33) — $21MM club option with a $7.5MM buyout Andrew Cashner (31) Jhoulys Chacin (30) Tyler Chatwood (28) Jesse Chavez (34) Wei-Yin Chen (32) — Can opt out of the remaining three years, $52MM on his contract Alex Cobb (30) Bartolo Colon (45) Johnny Cueto (32) — Can opt out of the remaining four years, $84MM on his contract Yu Darvish (31) John Danks (33) Jorge De La Rosa (37) R.A. Dickey (43) — $8MM club option with $500K buyout Nathan Eovaldi (28) — $2MM club option Marco Estrada (34) Scott Feldman (35) Doug Fister (34) Yovani Gallardo (32) — $13MM club option with a $2MM buyout Jaime Garcia (31) Matt Garza (34) — $13MM vesting option/$5MM club option (can become $1MM club option based on DL time) Dillon Gee (32) Miguel Gonzalez (34) Jeremy Hellickson (31) Derek Holland (31) Ubaldo Jimenez (34) Ian Kennedy (33) — Can opt out of the remaining three years, $43MM on his contract John Lackey (39) Francisco Liriano (34) Jordan Lyles (27) Lance Lynn (31) Wade Miley (31) — $12MM club option with a $500K buyout Mike Minor (30) — $10MM mutual option with a $1.25MM buyout Matt Moore (29) — $9MM club option with a $1MM buyout Jon Niese (31) Ricky Nolasco (35) — $13MM club option with a $1MM buyout Martin Perez (27) — $6MM club option with a $2.45MM buyout Michael Pineda (29) Clayton Richard (34) Tyson Ross (31) CC Sabathia (37) Anibal Sanchez (34) — $16MM club option with a $5MM buyout Hector Santiago (30) Chris Sale (29) — $12.5MM club option with a $1MM buyout Masahiro Tanaka (29) — Can opt out of the remaining three years, $67MM on his contract Chris Tillman (30) Josh Tomlin (33) — $3MM club option with a $750K buyout Jason Vargas (35) Jered Weaver (35) Chris Young (39) — $8MM mutual option with a $1.5MM buyout
  3. Sanchez Stroman Happ Estrada Not bad at all as long as at least 3/4 have decent helthy seasons How high do they aim for the 5th guy?? How much money will be spent on the SP vs corner OF and is there enough for both?? Another #2 caliber SP would look awfully good in that rotation
  4. Last night a new single season home run record was set Most home runs collectively hit in one season in the history of MLB, with most teams having 11-12 games left to play
  5. Harvey has zero trade value now
  6. Great safe signing I like it
  7. Fwiw JP Morosi on the radio Says Jays won't punt next year. Too much invested amd attendance too good Says best move would be to trade for the last year of McCutchen
  8. The list of available free agent mid-back rotation starters is massive this year. There may actually be some decent buys. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/08/2017-18-mlb-free-agent-list.html And Jake McGee is exactly who I'd like to see them pick up for the bullpen
  9. Could this be an adequate 2018 lineup if they're all reasonably healthy? 1. Teoscar Hernandez ® LF 2. Josh Donaldson ® 3B 3. Justin Smoak (S) 1B 4. Free agent RF (Jay Bruce or Carlos Gonzalez??) 5. Kendrys Morales or Steve Pearce (S) DH 6. Russell Martin ® C 7. Troy Tulowitzki (L) SS 8. Kevin Pillar ® CF 9. Travis ® 2B (You could flip Hernandez and Travis if you want) Bench: Pearce, Carrera, Barney or Goins, backup catcher That's a pretty old veteran team but if they want to contend in 2018 they might as well sign a decent early 30's free agent to replace Bautista and do the hard work in filling out the rotation
  10. LMAO I though of exactly this when I saw the thread title
  11. Andrew Miller also activated
  12. David Price activated Farrell says he will pitch out of the bullpen for the rest of the regular season
  13. Chances of retaining Anderson on a 1 year deal for 2018? Think anyone else blinks and offers multiple guaranteed years?
  14. I've always wanted to see a guy good enough to do this because it would be so cool, but really do you think a good AL team would really use him to DH and especially make some sort of commitment to him to do so? I just can't see it.
  15. Hoping the fact that he can apparently hit really well will make him want to play in the National League Cause f*** the Red Sox and Yankees
  16. Exactly Indians - Good manager, good team, played well Royals - s*** manager, mediocre lucky ass team
  17. Yes it is They're also hard to dislike even though they beat us last year Rangers and Royals were so much more detestable it seems Indians are a pretty damn exciting and likeable team and they're actually really good and well constructed. Respect
  18. Unbelievable stretch for the Indians Would love to see them win 22
  19. Detroit clawing back 4-3 Indians
  20. Line out to end the inning Indians up 4-1 going into the 4th
  21. Bases loaded Fans all over Farmer, and Miggy becuse he was gesturing at the Cleveland fans
  22. s*** The backup catcher missed a pitch from Farmer and the home plate ump took it right in the shoulder/neck
  23. What a s*** season for the Tigers
  24. McCann and Ausmus both ejected for arguing over a called ball 4 that was definitely a ball LMAO
