  2. Blue Jays Do Not Expect To Sign First-Rounder Bickford by Tim Dierkes, Jul 11 at 10:36 AM CST The Blue Jays do not expect to sign first-round pick Phil Bickford, GM Alex Anthopoulos told reporters including broadcaster Mike Wilner.
  3. I PM'd Fatcow He'll have the GDT up by noon
  4. Do we know if Fatcow is going to get the GDT done? Game starts in 35 minutes.
  5. I would agree wholeheartedly if he was on the big league club. But the rehab assignment time lets you try it out. Plus, I think AAA has something else up his sleeve that we don't know about yet.
  6. Yes I think he's the real deal Not an ace and won't give you 220 innings, but a solid middle of the rotation level starter
  7. Yep. And at this point we probably might as well wish for Boston to destroy them and the Yankees. Boston is gonna win this division 90% likely. Especially if they shore up the bullpen before the trade deadline. They have the $ to do it.
  8. I liked the caller who thought Kawasaki was worth a huge amount of WAR because the team won 11 games in a row with him at short instead of Reyes. (As in, the team won a ton more games with him REPLACING Reyes and he though that's what wins against replacement meant). Wilner deservedly ripped this.
  9. Right. Any one number from the slash line is not adequate to evaluate a player's contribution to scoring. OBP is important but it's not everything.

  11. Yeah he's a piece of work...
  12. Me too. Not impossible but very very unlikely. In order for us to make the playoffs, way too many things would have to happen: 1. Melky and Lawrie back healthy AND productive 2. No more than maybe one other significant injury to an impact player this season 3. Ongoing good performance from Esmil Rogers or a heroic return from Morrow or Happ 4. Good stuff from Dickey and Johnson 5. A trade for an impact player before the end of July or a heroic callup from the minors 6. One or both of Tampa and Baltimore to fall off big time (I am presuming Boston holds and Yankees fall off) Possible? Yeah. Likelihood? Very, very low
  13. Game is early today - noon EST Opposing pitcher is a Dominican right hander with 1.2 innings of MLB experience I'll take Rasmus
  14. Every single AL East team won last night Grrrr
  15. Discuss http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/john-rocker-steroids-baseball-better-game-151144161.html
  16. No. He'll be too busy being our closer.
  17. DFA Bonifacio and call up Gose Then we can put it in the main section
  18. What do you mean? Clutch 2 run single just like we all thought. LOL.
  19. Cool I actually sent in a question directed at Morris asking him what it was like having Rickey Henderson on base and how he'd try to deal with it
