  1. OK, that works too Let's just get the players first...
  2. Damn you!!! Now I really want this Trade Lind, Pillar and either Santos or Janssen for a starting pitcher (making it Santos saves more $) Sign Choo and Ruiz Bautista to 1B Rock and Roll
  3. Yep. And some idiot will give Morneau 10 or 12 million a year anyway. I just hope it's not an idiot with last name Anthopoulos. #CanadianContent!!!
  4. Oh HELL YEAH Cap filler
  5. Easy to tell due to the games played showing Morneau had a few killer years and yet his overall career numbers aren't that much better than Lind's
  6. Agree on all counts. Morneau available too and he is also essentially Adam Lind now. (Maybe handles LHP better don't know) The problem is Lind and Edwin can both only play DH and 1B. Not much flexibility. Melky also may well be better suited for DH now, very anxious to see how he looks in spring training.
  7. Better than Mark DeDosa
  8. Yes And he has cheaper buyouts after 2014 and 2015
  9. Yes And he has cheaper buyouts after 2014 and 2015
  10. Interesting. Tidbit: 2013, 1 yr/$1.75M (13) (details) [*] Service Time (01/2013): 6.049, Free Agent: 2014 [*], Agents: Scott Boras [*]
  11. Not sure we can do better for the money. I don't love him either but I suspect they pick up his option for 2014 anyway. Hopefully they find a decent RHB to platoon in LF and DH.
  12. That's not really fair. He's done about what could have hoped for this year. Kills righties. (OPS >.900) Does poorly against tough lefties. That's Gibbons' job to manage that next year. We need a good right handed bat on the bench who can play OF, 1B or DH.
  13. Not all lefties are Lester and Price caliber tho
  14. Interesting Glad he wants to stay His buyout (2M) vs salary (7M) probably means they keep him another year.
  15. Morrow, Romero, Rogers, Johnson all produce a lot of ground balls when they're pitching well. The bad infield defense really hurt us. (So did the fact that Romero is more of a home run/walk pitcher than ground ball now LOL)
  16. Good points Defense will almost certainly be better next year. Reyes is only so so but we could be average or above average at every other position if Arencibia is gone for a plus defensive catcher. Edwin, Bautista - average Lawrie, Goins (?), Rasmus, Gose - above average I guess Melky is a wild card and could be sub par if he plays every day And, now that I look at that list, there are probably only 2 ELITE defenders there, and one of them (Gose) probably won't play every day.
  17. Good points And hey, welcome back
  18. You actually read past the first 2 lines?!?!?!
  19. Agreed But when the season started, AA would have assumed: Dickey and Morrow have really good years Johnson will pitch well and be in a position to expect an offer of a 3-4 year big $ contract Based in that, a QO and draft pick seemed likely Now, Dickey is just OK, Morrow is MIA, and Johnson can obviously be kept on a 1 year deal if the money is right. Suddenly, retaining him for a year makes sense.
  20. I'm just losing my mind a bit today That's all...
  21. LOL Yuuuuup
