    OK, I'm old enough to remember. 1992 I was in grade 12, huge Jays fan, got pissed drunk at friends house and ran around the streets of Fredericton after the win in my John Olerud jersey with 5-6 other guys. Was beyond exciting. 1993 I was with my girldlfriend in a hotel in Halifax. Even though we'd watched a ton of games together (she liked Robbie Alomar) we somehow decided to watch a movie that night. After the movie we flipped to the game about 5 minutes before Joe Carter hit that home run. It was surreal. Anyway, for those too young to remember or born post 1993, it was pretty fantastic. Proud to be a fan. Great teams. No problem attracting free agents. Full house all the time (I used to go to Toronto almost every summer for a few games and still do) I hope we get to see something like it in the next 5 years. Until late April I thought we were headed that way too. Now not so sure.

    If we're going to overpay in cash for someone I would rather it be for Cliff Lee or equivalent. Rather that than take a bad contract of a player we don't even want in order to get one other player that we actually do want. (Ie. I'm not taking Josh Beckett just to get Adrian Gonzales)

    Joking aside, if the Jays had more financial flexibility they could consider this. But there is too much wasted $$ on the payroll now to pull a Dodgers 2012 style deal.

    Tragically, I am probably way too optimistic about what Drabek might provide in 2014. So much potential for disappointment.

    I know what you mean about internal options for pitching. So many question marks but a lot of potential actually. I'd be totally down with only signing someone like Kuroda on a 1 year deal. As long as catcher is addressed and another position (LF or 2B) is upgraded.

    Thank God they corrected that Have you heard the clip of the umps talking to Matheny? Very professional and cared more about greeting the call right than anything else. Still absolutely ridiculous that the first call of Pedroia out at second was made in the first place
