  1. Agree 100% 160 quality IP for this guy would be the Jays story of the decade. Also, however, not holding breath
  2. Truth be told I was looking for an excuse for a McGowan thread. This so-so article was it.

  4. Also, Jays obviously don't have the unlimited $$ that the Yankees do. They could sign Tanaka and still fill 3-4 other holes via free agency. If the Jays had the money for Tanaka and that's all, I would have rather signed Jimenez, Infante or Drew and Baker anyway for the same total $.
  5. Well, ultimately his clients pretty much are always good players. Teams will always want his players if he keeps attracting a good clientelle.
  6. And they're in a tough division. Texas and Oakland are always good, Angels will be better this year, and its just a matter of time before Houston is no joke.
  7. Yeah. I think we can confidently predict that no team will give him that opt out clause after 1 year. As much as I want us to get him and as much as I generally want bad things to happen to the Red Sox, I'd love to see him go crawling back there for 10 or 12M on a 1 year deal.
  8. Interesting JFaS. Doesn't surprise me but cool that it can be proven. Any data on strike zone size by caliber of player because it often seems like some elite players get a slight benefit of the doubt.
  9. I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict that next year a few more guys just accept their qualifying offers. I know they're likely to change the rules but how soon?
  10. Wow. Draft pick compensation AND an opt out clause after 1 year?!?!? GTFO
  11. I'm anxious to see how EE and Bautista fare against him

  13. Interesting soundbite they keep playing on ESPN Just deliberately downplaying his upside to temper fans expectations?? Seems like an odd thing to say regardless.
  14. Rosenthal - Arroyo signs with DBacks
  15. ARod stops his lawsuit - multiple sources http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/a-rod-withdraws-lawsuits-to-overturn-suspension/
  16. Makes sense for him - near home, NL team. But do they need him??
  17. Seattle must be expecting too much. Not much leverage when everyone knows you pretty much have to trade him. I'm pretty sure Cano wins the 2B starting job out of spring training. LOL
  18. While 12 teams are talking about Espinosa (well, 11 after the Jays stop) we should trade for Franklin.
  19. HardballTalk ‏@HardballTalk The Mariners are "cautiously optimistic" they will also sign Nelson Cruz
  20. Used to. Sounds like some GM's have AA on ignore.
  21. Yeah. Now that he has the ignore list, infractions, bans and unbans working and a few hacks removed we're good. And better equipped to deal with the s*** storms we'll have during the actual season when it gets way busier and trolls start coming out after every 2 game "losing streak" or blown save.
