  1. And the list of recent "star closers" who then busted is just as long
  2. Maybe. TBH he's been away a lot but the place is working very well as it is. A few minor glitches can be fixed before the busier season starts in a couple of months.
  3. Wouldn't that ATTRACT casuals? LOL
  4. Odd. I wonder if that's a decision admin made deliberately?
  5. Maybe has to be a web imbedded file instead of YouTube? Might be Youtube that blocks the functionality so that you have to go their site and see the ads etc.
  6. Oh the Gose the Gose the Gose
  7. Never could Only animated GIFs
  8. I'm surprised Oakland hasn't snatched Hanson up - seems like a Billy Beane special
  9. Reports say Josh Hamilton has put on 28 pounds this off season. No pics yet but I'm sure there will be when he gets to Angels camp. Can you put on 28 pounds of muscle from October to February? Oh well, they can cut him slack, cause at least he had a great year in 2013 and provided solid value for 25M right? Oh wait...
  10. Rasmus I agree with waiting on for multiple reasons A Lawrie extension after a so-so year seems like a shrewd move that could pay off handsomely. There's some risk but I think less risk than letting him get to free agency.
  11. Yep. Think Freddie Freeman $ if we wait until he "finds it"
  12. They're both young enough that they're not "complete" yet either though Machado could improve his plate discipline Lawrie could reduce his fielding mistakes and re-discover some extra base power
  13. Merged thread is merged
  14. Interesting Lawrie finished his year with 11 homers and a .254/.315/.397 slash line, one of many disappointing campaigns amidst the epic fail that was the 2013 Blue Jays season. Still, as bad as Lawrie's season was perceived to be, he still finished only 34 OPS points and three homers behind Machado, despite the Baltimore phenom's 268 extra PA. Lawrie also had a higher walk rate and lower strikeout rate, so if you factor in the BABIP gap (Lawrie had a .280 BABIP, Machado had a .322), you can make the case that Lawrie was actually the better hitter last season.
  15. No way they even come close to USA, DR, Venezuela and Japan. Those countries are so far ahead of everyone else it's not even funny.
  16. That sucks. Doesn't give much detail. Good luck to you Curt.

Stamkos will NOT play at the Olympics Per TSN
  18. Good, Good But FFS AA, sign Burnett or Jimenez while they're dealing with Arroyo
  19. Any player will know that HR>2B>1B>BB>various outs>GIDP obviously But some guys don't understand the aggregates and what they mean about their overall performance, sure. For example, some guy (no one in particular) might think that a 21HR season with a sub .230 OBP is OK. But it's not.
  20. Yeah as long as they do them while the Jays are on 6+ day road trips that's fine. Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park have concerts all the time.
  21. Right. A player goes in to every at bat trying to succeed - get a hit, get on base, advance a runner, hit ball hard, or whatever the situation calls for. Although I'm sure most of them are aware of certain things, like how many home runs they've hit for the season, or their batting average they're not thinking about what this at bat might do to their wOBA or wRC+. They're just focused on getting a good result that at bat.
  22. I think Tracy McGrady has a better chance LOL http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/10404273/former-nba-star-tracy-mcgrady-try-baseball
