  1. Yeah. It's probably not a particularly good gig. I listen on the radio quite a lot. In car. Mowing lawn. Etc. and I'd really like them to improve the team. I like Howarth a lot. But there's way too much Wilner. Alan Ashby was decent IMO and haven't really liked anyone else they've had. Hope this guy works out.
  2. One of my best friends has this t shirt. I almost choked laughing the first time I saw it.
  3. That's the majority opinion. Drafting mostly high ceiling high risk high school arms and athletic position players who mostly can't hit seems to be the biggest problem. The fact that Snider and Arencibia both busted so badly after being so highly touted for their bats HAS led to questions about the team's player development though.

  5. Yeah I wasn't necessarily agreeing with him. Hutch did not look out of place in the majors before his injury.
  6. Griffin Re Jeffress and bullpen in general http://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2014/03/02/blue_jays_jeremy_jeffress_walking_high_wire_in_crowded_bullpen_griffin.html
  7. Zaun says he needs 150 more minor league innings before he should be called up
  8. Well it also might have been one scout with a slightly hot gun. Cause yeah it's a bit early in the season to hit max lifetime velocity.
  9. Useful info ICYMI:
  10. This was a rumour started by Jeff Blair a few days ago. Edwin has since debunked it in interviews.
  11. LOL Could help fund the Jays though.
  12. I didn't get to see Ohka. Was he mostly throwing knuckleballs or no?
  13. Yes. They probably mis-handled Snider. But given his lack of success in Pittsburgh (if anything he's gotten WORSE) I just don't think he ever had the makeup to be a solid major leaguer. Classic AAAA level player. I don't think the Jays "ruined" him, although some think they did.
  14. I'll give you Cardinals. But who was the last player the Yankees drafted and developed into a star?
  15. And it's not like had a poor callup. He had a sophomore slump and then an injury plagued season.
  16. Was that all? Oops. I was thinking he had spent 1.5 years.
  17. We have seen more guys flourish after arriving here than we have seen guys flourish after leaving. You're right. But the OP (with whom I disagree) was really referring to what happens in the minor leagues. Of the guys you mentioned, only Lawrie spent much time in our minor league system. Though even Edwin was down for a bit I guess.
  18. Numbers do not = quality though We don't have a Price or Longoria
  19. Yep. I think he could have a great season. Looks absolutely fine in LF too. Hate to get my hopes up too much but...
  20. If he and Bautista are full on with Reyes and Cabrera setting the table this top of the lineup would be absolutely lethal. And Bautista looks super dialed in. Just hope he keeps it up. He has ugly long slumps (which Re common among power hitters of course)
  21. Wasting lead off men on base. Blue Jays baseball is back!
  22. Agree with most predictions Sierra will be on the club I think Redmond is a better option than Happ but agree Happ is likely the one they take regardless More likely Goins than Kawasaki Likely a reliever is on DL and he manages to keep Jeffress Possible that Kratz replaces Thole. Depends a bit on who is best with Dickey.
  23. It's on Sportsnet TV today which is a bonus as well
