  1. Bautista for me too. Can't ignore those career numbers no matter how hard I try.
  2. Okay, I think I figured it out. If you're using Stylish, add the following (same way as we did to eliminate posts of ignored users): li[id*=post_thanks_box] {display:none !important;} This will eliminate the extra thank-you posts.
  3. I don't know what level of control you have with the forum software, but is it possible for you to add a class to the thank-you posts that would let us eliminate them if we wish? For example, if you added a class to go along with postbitlegacy and postbitim ( ) that identified it as a thank-you post, then I could use Stylish to eliminate the extra clutter. (If you know of another way to do it without removing the functionality please let me know. Maybe there's a way with Stylish to parse it from the id?)
  4. This has nothing to do with being reactionary or giving up on guys too early. These pitchers would have been sent down again even if they threw 5 no-hit innings. We have 2 starters on the DL and two more that probably should be, and basically no one is going deep into the game. This is simply trying to prevent the entire pen from going on the DL too from being overworked. We haven't risked losing anyone that remotely matters in these moves (with the possible exception of Jeffress, and we got away with with that). Laffey would be nice right now, but there wasn't room to carry him at the time. The only thing I don't like about these moves are if it causes bad feelings by the players towards the organization. If they were signed or picked up and told that this is likely what would happen, then there's no issue at all.
  5. Red Sox and the Twins have combined for 16 runs and it's only in the top of the 2nd...
  6. Loup could probably give us 5 innings on under 50 pitches... Gonzalez is just emergency help though until they can call up who they prefer (if it's even required with the off-days). It's too bad Dickey has been battling the sore back or they could probably have him throw 5 or so on his throw day between starts. It would only need to be short term until JJ (hopefully) comes back or McGowan gets stretched out anyway.
  7. Well, we had to have someone available to eat innings if Romero struggles or has blister problems again. Can't pick and choose much on short notice.
  8. I wonder if this is the cause of his lack of velocity, or if Halladay trying to throw harder to compensate for the velocity drop is responsible for this? That's the big question here, isn't it?
  9. If Happ's knee injury isn't too major, it's probably a blessing for him right now. It should give him some needed time off to regroup rather than be thrown back into the fire (assuming his head is in fact okay).
  10. Looks like Middlebrooks and Ross collided in the Boston game. Both had to leave the game.
  11. Dice-k probably wouldn't cost much to get from Cleveland. Of course, we'd have to delete his walk totals from every computer on the planet first.
  12. I think Moyer is still available. Maybe if he goes on Delabar's throwing program he can bring his fastball velocity up above Dickey's knuckleball.
  13. I think most cities have bylaws preventing people from owning monkeys, so you may get lucky even if they somehow do win it.
  14. Yeah, that's what I was wondering. If the infielders abandoned their bases to help Happ preventing Bautista from getting the ball in, then it was incredibly bad sportsmanship for the Rays to take the extra bases. If not, then it's hard to blame the rays for playing it out.
  15. I wasn't paying attention to the runners after I saw Happ get drilled. Did the runners score and advance because JPA and Lawrie vacated the bases to help Happ? If so, it was terrible sportsmanship. If not, then it's hard to get too mad at the Rays for playing it out.
  16. This is actually a good matchup for JPA. He's a low ball hitter, that one was just a little bit too low. And Adam bomb!!!
  17. They may as well stretch him out. He needs the innings, and if he comes up, he'll probably be the long man.
  18. I wonder what the admins at mlb.com boards are thinking. They probably have double the free server resources they did a few days ago.
  19. Bautista for me. The combination of the Rays pounding him inside along with Fausto's command makes it pure win.
  20. Interesting that Janssen and McGowan are on the program. If Janssen could pick up a few mph he'd go from top-tier to truly elite. I don't know how much it can help McGowan since he doesn't seem to need the extra velocity, but perhaps they think it'll help strengthen the shoulder or something.
  21. It looks like BP tends to allow for non-commercial use of their data as long as you provide credit, so I think he's probably okay on this. I'm not a big fan of embedded excel files on a web page though.
