  1. I don't care who wins this game, I just want them to beat each other (and the bullpens) to hell (except for Robertson, took enough damage from Janssen today).
  2. You got your wish.
  3. You never want that no matter what the guy did, but he certainly deserves one in the ribs.
  4. Escobar showing off while crossing home plate deserves a "message" sent in tomorrow's game.
  5. This makes a good deal of sense imo. As Dinger said, this gives Mottola a good chance at helping him on his hitting, and gives us a late inning defensive replacement / pinch runner. I think this is all about fixing Gose's swing/approach with the guy who probably has the best chance of accomplishing it.
  6. Miggy just hit a 440ft opposite field home run. I believe he's also now hitting over .500 with risp this year.
  7. Jim Johnson with a blown save, coughed up 5 runs in the top of the ninth to the Rays.
  8. Better at-bats the last inning or two, even though we haven't had good results from them.
  9. Looks like the ump is calling the outside pitch but not the inside one.
  10. Normally I'd expect them to regress and wouldn't be too worried about it, but it's possible that just as the over-performers do so the injured guys may be ready to return.
  11. Didn't see this posted anywhere, and it's an interesting read. Maybe if we're lucky JPA will read it too... http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/davidi-patient-approach-paying-off-for-lind/
  12. As it stands right now, both wild cards would come from the AL East.
  13. Really if you draft a guy like that, why not keep him a two-way player? Develop both sides and see which ends up most valuable for you? Maybe you get a good pitcher who can legitimately pinch hit, or a good hitter who can throw some mop-up innings.
  14. Maybe that's a thread we should create. Let this one be more for moves / injuries / etc?
  15. The thing about Hayhurst is he calls it as he sees it both ways. He's also very good at praising people when they deserve it. If he only focused on the negative, then it might be an issue.
  16. Interesting article. I disagree with them that the bullpen itself has struggled though, since a good portion of the runs have been given up by the mop-up/filler guys. Just for fun: Janssen, Delabar, Cecil, Oliver, Loup: 24 earned runs in 92 innings Rogers, Lincoln: 20 earned runs in 28 1/3 innings dfa crew: 19 earned runs in 20 innings (Ortiz in relief, Storey, Gonzalez, Germano, Bush) Other: 2 earned runs in 5 1/3 innings (Jeffress, Santos)
  17. Just baseball-reference. Click on the team from the front page standings, then go to batting -> splits.
  18. Looks like the no-command Rodney is showing up tonight. Nothing like walking the first 2 batters in a two run game to face Napoli.
  19. The rookie Ozuna with the triple off Chapman to tie the reds game. Nice night for Hech too.
  20. Nope, it doesn't
  21. Thanks. Interesting article. It would be interesting to see the effects of weight on durability, but I don't know if there is a lot of data available for that.
  22. Well, they only got 2/3 of an inning out of their starter last night. This definitely puts a hurt on their pen, and that can only help us.
  23. "Joel Hanrahan had successful surgery to repair his flexor tendon. Dr Andrews also performed Tommy John surgery and removed bone spurs." Talk about a full service operation!
