  1. I don't believe it would, at least not right now. There seems to be a pretty high immigrant population, most of which doesn't seem to come from places particularly interested in baseball.
  2. It sure would have been more useful if Yahoo had told me last night that Kane and Nichuskin had been activated yesterday, rather than this morning when it was too late to do anything about it...
  3. Is there a little keyboard picture at the bottom of your screen (language bar)? If so, click on it and select the correct language.
  4. He'll get way too much money. Not worth the premium.
  5. Even the new WOW expansion went from 39.99 to 49.99
  6. It shouldn't be surprising. At some point, you (mostly) exhaust what you can do with the available stats. Then you wait until data collection improves and begin again. With MLBAM rolled out next year to all 30 teams, we should see an explosion in the next year or two. Also, as each new stat improves on previous ones, the amount of improvement is generally smaller. At some point, people (at least the public) don't care about the difference in the small amount of improvement, especially if it also comes with an extremely complicated formula.
  7. That's an interesting point. I hope I can free up some time soon to give it all a go.
  8. Looking into it closer is something I'd really like to do, but for 50/50 tournaments I'm not sure a traditional optimal lineup would be the right strategy. You don't have to finish first, just in the money. I suspect reducing some variability may be more helpful than achieving on average a slightly higher scoring, but more volatile lineup.
  9. Yup. So was Delgado and Werth.

Yeah, that's true. I'm hoping Markov continues his early success too for that reason (especially with the hits, which has always been his weakness).

That would be nice...I think. Since I don't think I'll be competing this year, hopefully it doesn't crush a high pick for me though.

    Ouch... I have Halak too
  13. I'm guessing you meant Goins? edited: read back a bit, yup Goins.
  14. When Tulo is healthy, yes I think he's far superior to everyone else at the position. We're also talking about someone who's cracked 600 PA once (barely) in the last 5 years though.
  15. Arguing about Votto's fragility while talking about Tulo doesn't seem wise.
  16. Wow. I definitely like that better for you.

    This was on Sportsnet: http://youtu.be/uW4zmtvYtxY
  18. At least it's early in the off-season. He shouldn't miss much development time.
  19. Oh god, I can't stop watching that. Damn you!
  20. Not all of the Jays revenue is in Canadian dollars. I have no idea how reliable this site is, but this is a really interesting article. http://awfulannouncing.com/2013/how-mlb-splits-your-tv-dollars.html It's quite possible (IF the site is accurate) that more than half our revenue is actually in USD.
  21. I can't complain about Halak and Johnson so far. I doubt they'll be a top tandem, but I'll settle for average.
  22. Baseball-Reference and Fangraphs use different formulas to calculate WAR. You should see a difference on most players.
  23. As soon as you run out of roster space and drop Greiss.
