  1. I wish my record was closer to my expected record. I'd actually prefer the higher draft pick this year.
  2. Pitchers and Catchers, Feb 22nd, Position players Feb 26th (2nd latest in the league)
  3. Well, the entertainment factor is certainly legit in this one.
  4. No, I don't think it's a significant factor holding him back this year. Someone will cough up 4 years and 70 million, if not more. One year older and the risk of injury wouldn't outweigh the small amount more he might be able to get imo.
  5. I thought for sure with my prospect team, I'd be one of the bottom 3 in the league. I have no idea how I'm 13th right now. If I hadn't done the Nichuskin (been injured all year) for Anderson swap and actually had the 2nd goalie, I'd probably be in a playoff position. I still like the trade long term though.
  6. Could you post the final deal here when it happens? I've had some strong interest in Carpenter in the BBDL, and I'm curious what he goes for.
  7. It's also possible the Jays doctors found something they didn't like.
  8. You never know why guys back out. This was rather interesting: http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/wayne-gretzky-vancouver-canucks-new-york-rangers-toronto-maple-leafs-pat-quinn/
  9. I had no issues with losing d'Arnaud in the deal, and I still don't. I did however have a problem with losing Syndergaard, and I still do.
  10. It's the Yahoo player's list (o-rank and rank)
  11. Finally loaded for me. He was throwing 89 to 90, with a curve and change. Add a few ticks out of the pen, and who knows.
  12. Huh. Could be interesting. In a fangraphs.com article from two years ago, it listed him #10 among pitchers in the Italian League (scout-), although that was as a starter. I'm having trouble getting better data on him (the wbc site is being annoying for me), but he pitched vs the dominican republic's stacked lineup in the WBC, and gave up 2 runs in 5.1 innings. Gave up solo shots to Reyes and Cano.
  13. He was a pick in the 60's. Could have been a lot worse. Adams, Negron, etc were pretty smelly. McGuire isn't looking good. Garry Harris, the #2 overall pick in 1980 didn't make it out of AA. I don't know what the story was though, whether there was injury or something.
  14. I don't mind the deal for that. I'd like to see us sign Axford still.
  15. And sign Beachy, move Sanchez to pen.
  16. If it wasn't for that vesting option, you could trade Buehrle for Papelbon, then sign Shields.
  17. I'd just like to say thank you King, for finally selecting an avatar photo with a shirt on.
  18. The entire offseason for the sport is an exercise in bad journalism. Blame twitter followers, "insiders" who retweet each other and add their own exaggerations, and click bait.
  19. Board links are not capable of penetrating the ether.
  20. In other news, girls suddenly begin renouncing alcohol. Breweries mystified.
  21. No you don't, you really don't.
  22. Plus, for the vast majority of baseball history, pitchers basically NEVER faced just one batter.
  23. My team of prospects is only 2 points back of you
  24. Well, that WOULD shorten the game. Soccer games would also probably feature more scoring than baseball games.
  25. I wonder what that would do to pitcher injuries, whether it would increase or decrease them?
