  1. How many rounds each year in the draft for that other league? We could always include an age in the mandatory promotion to weed out some of that, or cap the minors at 20 with the reduced prospect draft rounds just to prevent someone from going nuts. The idea is obviously to increase flexibility, not insanity. As I said, I don't know if it would work or not, but I think it's an interesting discussion to have. * Agree with Dinger, 500 owned prospects is crazy. ~240 ish like we currently have makes sense, it would just be nice to be able to have more flexible distributions of them.
  2. Yeah, that's why the rounds would have to be reduced to 3 or 4. I don't know how well it would work in practice, but it seems at least somewhat interesting on paper. The thresholds could be lowered for mandatory promotion to help too.
  3. We could do something like we were discussing earlier in the BBDL, which is allow unlimited farms, but only have something like 3 or 4 rounds in the prospect draft (after the initial one). Overall player pool should stay about the same, but would give people the flexibility to build as they wish.
  4. Definitely should be offline. If the intent is that we have active owners who are all paying attention, and people unreasonably hold the draft up, then we selected the owners wrong.
  5. We've really got to stop having these horrendous starts.
  6. Maybe something like bluejaysfantasyleagues.com, or bjmbfanstayleagues.com? I mean, if a website is created for the Elite league, it can't be much more work to extend it to the BBDL and DDL too.
  7. I'd have to think it's at least worth exploring. A fastball in the mid to upper 90's combined with that good changeup could work well.
  8. I'd love for us to get Medina, who was just DFA'd.
  9. Sorry, forgot Upton was a FA. Myers or Ross over Shields.
  10. I'd take Myers, Upton, or Ross over Shields.
  11. We could actually make this into an interesting competition each year. Everyone has to select one player from each team (and having to fill each position), and the person at the end of the year who accumulates the most WAR wins.
  12. I'd probably take Darvish over Hamels. I think you could make a reasonable argument for Keuchel or Springer over Correa too depending on need, although I'd probably go with Correa myself.
  13. Cubs Bryant Rizzo Arrieta Heyward Schwarber / Russell NLC Carpenter McCutchen Bryant Arcia ? Votto I think I'd take the 5 cubs.
  14. Soccer is simple. 1) Be in shape. 2) If someone invades your personal space, fall down and roll around in pain. 3) Something about a ball.
  15. Really tough for us to gauge. There's some scouts that think he's a #4 or a #5, and some probably think he's the next Iwakuma. It's gonna be interesting to see if someone pays him like a #2, or if he gets something closer to 15 per.
  16. He looks like that when he pitches too
  17. I don't mind this. I assume it's close to the minimum. Goins last year had a 92 wRC+ versus righties, and Barney has a career 92 wRC+ versus lefties. Both play great defense. There's definitely some value if platooned, especially since Travis is probably out for the first month or two, and Tulo has a pretty crappy injury history himself.
  18. It would make a lot more sense to spend the money on one of the good pitchers that are left imo. Still, Davis could potentially be a 2 to 3 win upgrade in the short term. Our batting lineup would be so absurd even the video games would balk at it.
  19. Hopefully we can trade Revere and one of Smoak or Bello for a pair of decent relievers (preferably while saving some money).
  20. Not a good idea. It would discourage new people who may be here to actually learn. The ignore button serves just fine for this.
  21. Unlikely. Most teams only require compensation for lateral moves, this is a promotion for him. If teams blocked their employees from taking promotions, they'd have a hard time getting quality employees.
  22. He's doing back-to-school wrong I think.
  23. They may have for about 5 seconds, after which they permanently deleted the ability and tore out their eyes.
  24. You should know better than to encourage this.
  25. Taking a flier on him would make me very happy (provided it was incentive driven).
