    I'll probably protect him as things stand right now, but either way it seemed like a worthwhile time to grab him. I feel that with his track record, some team will give him the closers job outright. He should definitely get a 2nd rounder if I couldn't keep him next offseason.

    I would have thought that too, but his arbitration amount shouldn't have been too high (5.75M last year), and no team was willing to take him apparently.
