  1. You need to feed your kids more or something.
  2. Coghlan and Moss are probably the best value signings available (especially Coghlan, who could quite possibly put up 2 war in a platoon role at ultra low cost).
  3. They have Nimmo. I kind of get the feeling this is more about securing their outfield for next year as well, while cashing in on Granderson before he's a FA again.
  4. Outside of 2015, Granderson has actually been pretty decent against lefties the last 5 or 6 years. It's probably not necessary to platoon him (at least not strictly).
  5. Oh, I agree. I'm just trying to piece together the snippets we get from reports into something that could explain them.
  6. Maybe the Mets have lined up signing a FA, and are looking to get rid of both. It could be a situation of, take Bruce and get a reduced cost on Granderson or something. I'm thinking they may be starting to regret picking up that option on Bruce ...
  7. Just let Loup and Dermody handle the situational lefty stuff. There's lots of nice names left on the RHP market to fill out a high quality pen for the bulk of the innings. I don't want to sink major money into another lefty that probably isn't any better than those two guys anyway.
  8. Payton's haircut looks ridiculous. They say he's not shooting well ... he probably can't see the rim.
  9. I feel like the team should try having Nog and JV on the floor at the same time. Nog doesn't do well under the net, but is very effective at getting rebounds that go further out, and blocking shots when he can range a little and isn't being bodied. JV is more effective near the net, but isn't very mobile atm.
  10. It's worth pointing out that the Hawks have also beaten the Cavs this year.
  11. This is really ugly.
  12. Was it up to 22 or 23 that we were allowed to bring through the cut, if we protect less in the minors?
  13. Semien hit 27 home runs last year? a) where did THAT come from? I've gotta start paying closer attention.
  14. I wonder what Jordan Patterson would cost, now that the Rockies basically have 4 outfielders not including him.
  15. Am I the only one who had to look up who Edubray Ramos was?
  16. Dude, come on. He's not even TRYING to disguise the trolling attempt.
  17. I think it would be an interesting trade. Puig has 3 years of control left, and is projected at 3 WAR next year (and the projection looks reasonable to me). The cost (after factoring in Smoak) would be ~4M / year plus the arbitration year. Whether Puig is a clubhouse cancer/distraction or not, I don't know. Add Moss and we'd be looking at about 12M left to add a few relievers and a backup catcher.
  18. Puig for Osuna and Smoak (who they can cut if they like). Who says no?
  19. Man did the Cards ever bail on Pujols at the right time (although people have said for years he may be older than his stated age). He's still a dangerous hitter, just not bank breaking godly.
  20. I'm not sure about that. He's seen what's happened to other players when they've done that.
  21. I kinda feel like one OF may come via trade, one by signing. I still think with the price of RP, maybe we could net a MLB ready OF prospect (plus more) for Osuna. Maybe someone like a Brinson or Nimmo, then sign Moss. Sign Holland and give him the closer's job with Osuna gone (a little risky), sign Tolleson. Probably still a little short in relief, but we'd likely have ~7 million to play with. I doubt it'll happen, but I really think the reliever bubble won't last, and this is a chance to cash in.
  22. Harrison doesn't have much experience in the OF (and what little he does, he was terrible). Kendrick is actually above average in LF it appears, but still has the flexibility to fill in at 2nd if needed.
  23. Huh? Last I saw he was traded a month ago to the Phillies, and the expectation was that he would be flipped. What did I miss?
  24. Howie Kendrick is a very realistic trade target imo.
  25. A lot more interesting will be what Edwin eventually signs for, given we have strong indications of what he was offered at the start of the offseason.
