  1. Same day moves can be a pain in the ass because of the way Yahoo implements it. I don't particularly care either way, but I'm not sure that it's an improvement. Now if no one in the league has opposition to Fantrax, we could move the league there and that would probably solve the same day move issues in Yahoo. Spanky had excellent goaltending, which caused him to take all/most of the categories there every week. Combine that with players who get a lot of hits and blocks and you win a lot of matchups. He definitely benefited from the volume of moves, but he almost certainly makes the playoffs even without them. It's also fair to point out he focused on more non-traditional areas (such as hits and blocks) as opposed to getting caught up with goals. We can't add weighting to the stat categories. At best we could add additional stat categories for offense, but it already is weighted quite a bit heavier than goaltending and additional options that don't result in pure randomness are limited. I guess we could add actual points in addition to goals and assists to prioritize actual scoring (not sure if that's what you meant), but aside from that the only real additional option in Yahoo would be PIM.
  2. I agree with Dinger. For a rental player, I don't think a premium is necessary. If they had several years of control, it definitely becomes more problematic.
  3. Kyle Lewis is interesting.
  4. The utility is the stats, not the articles.
  5. Being on the roster is on Atkins, not Gibby. Today's kind of situation is exactly how he should be used right now if he's up here.
  6. Cutting down their swings, getting on base, stealing at will.
  7. Well, Nats giving a clinic on how to manufacture runs.
  8. They bribed the baseball gods, who unfortunately don't seem to accept CAD at this time.
  9. Well, a 117 puts him 11th in baseball among qualified 1st basemen. Of course more would be nice, but there's more teams than not who would love to have what we're getting offensively at 1st.
  10. This is what happens when you repeatedly take blows to the head.
  11. He's putting up a 117 wRC+ this year with a VERY high walk rate. I'll be happy to take that again next year.
  12. Yeah, much better than his line. He got very unlucky.
  13. I took him in a DFS match to get some bigger bats in the lineup. I'm not wise.
  14. The one thing about the wildcard though is that it's very hard for teams to actually line up their ace for that one game.
  15. I think if baseball moved to a balanced schedule, we'd see less concern about trading within divisions. It's kinda rough to face a good prospect for half a decade or more, 18 times a year, that you gave up for a 2 month rental.
  16. He wouldn't be the primary piece, but mid to upper 90s with huge movement (part of his problem), and is controllable. He'd be a real nice by low candidate, and could probably be shifted to the pen if worse comes to worse. Not sure what the status of his shoulder is atm.
  17. I think it's unlikely we'd see a trade in our own division anyway. Something like the Angels for maybe Marsh and Meyer could be interesting though (I don't think we'd get Adell or Maitan in a deal).
  18. That Solarte home run had a 97% chance of being a hit. I wonder in exactly what parks something hit with that velocity and angle does NOT result in a hit (or home run for that matter)? Dodger stadium at night during a typhoon maybe?
  19. Things you can do in the future: If you use Chrome or Firefox, you should be able to create an account and have your bookmarks stored in the cloud. Barring that, if you've ever opened the spreadsheets while logged into Google, you should be able to see them in your Google Drive. I'd suggest starring them to easily find in the future.
  20. I've never seen a -19 score from a pitcher before in DK. Congrats to Blackburn for the dubious distinction.
  21. There sure are a lot of low scoring games today so far.
  22. Or how it works when a player is traded. Could the team that signed the contract keep the insurance contract as part of the deal somehow? Maybe the Rockies are collecting on Tulo lol.
  23. He's not gonna retire with 150M left on his contract. The rest of the year off might actually do him some good, and help the back issue heal more.
