  1. Eloy makes the opening day roster after signing that deal the other day.
  2. I want to say Hendricks, but I don't think the Cubs shift a lot compared to other teams.
  3. Hard to say. On one hand, you'd like to send players directly to their destinations after today's game. On the other hand, they may want to talk one last time with the staff. Are the Jays scheduled to fly out tonight or tomorrow morning?
  4. Ty Tice kinda reminds me of Jason Fraser.
  5. I'd have to flip 3 categories, and the players I have going tomorrow are very unlikely to do it.
  6. Ugh. Well, don't think there's a comeback in store for me this week. Barring a miracle, grats on a great year and playoffs Zeros.
  7. GS got absolutely annihilated on their home court by Dallas. Guess sitting out Curry puts a monkey wrench in their machinery.
  8. Controllable, triple digits, and last year a literally unhittable curve, albeit a relatively small sample size. Good bullpen piece, and a small step forward on the fastball command could see him become a dominant closer.
  9. Yeah, he seems kind of interesting, although he'll probably need to move to 1st like Vlad eventually will. Something like Toribio and Black for Pillar + salary this year seems decent for both sides.
  10. Thornton is starting today, for whatever that's worth.
  11. Was just looking through some stuff for DFS. JV has been a monster his last two games, with 33 points 15 rebounds in one and 23 points 24 rebounds last night.
  12. Twins released Tim Collins. We need to make this happen, at least long enough to get him one save opportunity
  13. Harden has 37 points at the half ...
  14. Price will have a xFIP of 5 and Sale will be recovering from TJS.
  15. Yeah, that's for all teams combined though, not the Rays specifically. I don't think it includes front office personnel and coaches, travel, or ballpark expenses either.
  16. Apparently in 2017 they made 210M. Beyond MLB payroll there's coaches and front office staff, ballpark expenses and personnel, travel, MiLB salaries, draft bonuses, etc. Their owners probably aren't raking it in like you might expect.
  17. A pitcher can't be replaced unless they face 3 batters OR the end of the inning occurs. All it does is prevent the 4 or 5 pitchers an inning nonsense that drags things out forever, nothing else changes.
  18. Jose Martinez on trade watch.
  19. That seems a little light, but then again he's a pitcher. I'd want to secure my future if I was him too.
  20. And in other news, Alford finally found the bats he misplaced yesterday after being told he didn't make the team.
  21. Looks like Knebel is out with elbow *problems*. Hader is probably going to get a lot of work in the first part of the season.
  22. It's nice to see us put up a win on the road, against a good team, without Lowry.
  23. Sanchez wins 15+ games with an ERA under 3.5 Tellez leads the Jays in home runs Pillar is still a Jay at the end of the year, but Smoak and Morales are not Red Sox miss the playoffs At least one Astros pitcher gets nailed for using an illegal substance on their hands Zunino hits over .270 and leads all catchers in WAR No batter hits over 39 home runs Edwin Diaz loses the closer's job with the Mets Cano surpasses 30/100 and hits over .300 this year The team with the best record in baseball this year will be someone who missed the playoffs last year
  24. Why do you want to punish us on opening day?
  25. Did he give up that much though? Betts is probably going to pull in between 55 and 60M in his three arbitration years, and while Bregman is very, very good, he isn't Betts. It's probably fair to put him at around 50M for those three years. His two free agent years are worth, I don't know, 60 to 65M? He probably left 15M on the table, and that's assuming he had nearly perfect health during his three arbitration years, which is certainly no sure thing. It's a very good deal for him imo, and it's a decent deal for the Astros to lock up two of his FA years at a reasonable cost.
